Van Exel made 10.9 last year, Stoud made 14.3.

If Portland adds Kidd for Rahim - the big current rumor

    What about . . .

    1. make it a three way deal and we throw in the TE and MoT for Van Exel, maybe we add a player to get Stoud.

    2. last year - 7.8 Mot 5.4 Spoon - gets close enough to work straight up for stoud - maybe we get them to take ward also

I would rather have Van exel - but MoTs contract is so onerous they might only give us Stoud - who has an expiring contract.

No to NVE. I was about to dismiss Stoudamire too, but I think I like Stoudamire. He's quick, a good distributor, good on the break, very good off the pick 'n roll, deadly from the outside, and of his generation of ball dominating point guards, is probably the least guilty of the sin. He's very small though and that is a problem defensively. I would not be opposed to the addition of Damon Stoudamire. I think his energy in the backcourt could have alot of the same effect that Daryle Armstrong had alongside T-Mac. He was also at this best when running the pick 'n roll in Sabonis' prime - Yao, anyone?

The problem is that he's a free agent next summer. The Blazers aren't going to take our garbage when they can let him walk and clear that room. I'de give him a look with next year's MLE though.

Stoudemire? No way. Let's not add bad influences to the Rockets. The last thing you would want is Yao and Damon hanging out and smoking out.

NVE? Maybe, but he's a 2-guard in a PG's body. Plus, he'll just jack shots up and piss Yao and T-Mac off.

i've said this before and i'll say it again! NVX will help the rockets, greatly. he's not as selfish as his reputation would suggest.

You can't deal the TE with a player so #1 is out. This has been stated about a million times this summer.

the TE could be used if it was used in two deals - ex. TE to New Jersey for player making 5 mil then adding that player with MoT for Stoud, or something similar.

As far as the G glut - hopefully we ship one out with MoT (like Ward and/or Lue). I would love having VExel as a scorer off the bench or as another scoring option.

I agree that Portland would not want to give up an expiring contract - except that if they could get the TE this year (in a 3 way 2 part deal) then they save double (luxury tax) that THIS year. Maybe we also add 3 mil. Plus, if they get Kidd, VE and Stoud will get very few minutes.

Mot Smoking dope or Stoud/VE smoking dope . . . . seems like a wash in the wacky weed category.

I'd rather try to get one of the many PGs the Bulls have right now, especiallly Chris Duhon.
