Van Exel being discussed in trade for the Knicks Camby, why aren't we talking to the knicks?

Obviously they are looking for a quick PG.....we have Mooch at a much lower price tag than nick the quick.....granted he is not as talented but we could throw in KT, or Cato which would help them out in the post after losing camby......a line up of Camby, Mo, & Griffin would be nice.......I do know that there would have to be extra's thrown in to match salary but for a player like camby (minus his injuries) I think it would be worth it especially if we could get rid of Kelvin ( I am pleased with his play of late but not sure if he can keep it up)

NVE is so much better than Moochie it's not even funny. And I'm one of Moochie's biggest fans here... but still, the gap between Moochie Norris and NVE cannot be closed with KT or Cato. The Knicks want a better PG than Mark Jackson, Charlie Ward, or Howard Eisley, and Mooch simply isn't it. Have any of you stopped to think how often you post these three average players for one good one trades? When will it sink in that a couple of solid role players isn't worth a star?

I wonder if our draft pick plus Mo Taylor would be more to their liking. That would certainly be fair.

We could have Francis, Mobley, Griffin, Camby, Cato.

There's a reason NY is willing to part with Camby. I don't want him either. He's a good player when healthy, but only when healthy. If you don't like Glen Rice being injured so much -- at least he has the excuse of being old.

I find it disturbing the knicks are willing to talk about giving their very key player camby and empty their defensive and inner presence even more so.. for a pg nick van exel?

i have to feel the knicks might be pulling another glen rice on someone... how many games has camby played this season?
    rice?

don't get the rocks involved in this trade... please

Why on earth do you want Camby on this team? The guy has a new injury every week.

When healthy, I think Camby is a good complement to Mo. They're actually opposites of each other. Could Camby play the 3?

Well Latrell should love this. "Get me a big guy, get me a big guy, get me a big guy." "How about this Latrell, we trade the one big guy who plays worth a crap and bring in another point guard. We were getting sick of the most filled position being small forward, we wanted PG to be right up there too. Is that good enough."

Unless they have big plans to get some size some time, I don't see why you would trade Camby. Although I guess they play most of the time without him now so maybe they figure improve another position through him and pray they get quality big men somewhere. Either way the knicks seem to be in one f'd up situation.

Which is A-OK with me. I hate the knicks.

What team in its right mind would trade for a player still in rehab with a torn achilles tendon?

    No way. No handles whatsoever.

I actually think that Camby would be a good fit in Houston, if he could ever recapture his '99 playoff run form. Camby has never developed a real offensive game or go-to move, but he thrives on energy and defense ... working with a talented backcourt, he can scoop up crazy rebounds and get a lot of putbacks. The Knicks never run their offense through him but he gets points anyway (and he sort of has a jump hook now).

Still, it's a big risk because of his injuries and the perception that he won't play hurt.

uh, I don't think we can do better than NVE for Camby.

    At least I hope not.

I would like to have Camby on the team as a 6th man/sometimes starter. Dude is a stick but he hustles like mad.

NYK is a bunch of morons if they trade big for small.

Who the hell plays center for them? Travis Knight? Puhlease.

That's really smart... Van Exel, Houston, and Sprewell...

Spree is already upset that he doesn't get enough shots, then throw in Van Exel, and Spree will prob be pissed.

I will tell u what Nick for Cuttino. I love Cuttino, but if you let steve play 2 w/ nick they would dominate. I'd trade any and everyone on the team for Nick except Steve and Eddie.

Ha! No, really, what's your offer?

Do I really need to go into this again? NugzFan and I have already been yelled at on enough threads. :)

Why are people so intent on moving Francis to the 2-guard spot when he doesn't want to become a 2-guard! Forcing him to be a Shooting guard is what drove him from Vancouver. He's coming up on a contract year and you're willing to force him back to Shooting guard? Our backcourt is fine, we need help up front in a big way, and that help is coming partly with a healthy Mo Taylor. And why would Denver trade Nick for a shooting guard. I guess they could start AJ, but I seriously doubt they would want to trade Nick for Cat when they have more pressing issues.
