I don't wanna call it tanking, b/c that has such a negative conotation. But with injuries tonight, and the season in shambles, the only thing to win for is pride. At this point in the season, I wouldn't consider it dishonorable to actually rest your guys and let those who may or may not be a part of the team's future get some looks. Some examples: Francis doesn't need to play over 35 mins a night the rest of the season. He should actually get his ear worked on and come back stronger for next season. Eddie, if his ankle injury is not severe should practice his low post moves in games so he can actually play like a power forward. Keep throwing Moochie out there. He may be playing much better but he may be one of the only tradeable commodities we have. Keep him out there impressing and dropping 17 dimes on occasion. I pray we keep throwing Cato out there so that he will continue to impress and hopefully not get injured and then we can trade his ars outta here for a more consistent center, w/o all the baggage. Would also be a good time to keep throwing Collier, Langhi and TMO out there. They seemed to be the ones needing the most work and they may actually show something that we could use next season. It's not wrong to concede defeat, but what is, is making it a habit. Rockets get on track and come back strong next year.
After the 15 or 16 game losing streak, that was my thoughts. I didn't see any way Walt could help this team in the future and since he wasn't playing during the hot time of the trading period, i saw no point in playing him in front of Morris,Langhi, or Griffin. As far as Griffin, he seems to be like a little more atheletic version of LaFrentz. Basically a perimeter oriented big man. Throughout my watchings of pro hoops, I don't think I've evr seen a big guy start on the perimeter and become a good low post player. I could be wrong, but I haven't seen one yet.
you guys are dead on! Eddie has no intention of setting up in the post or making any moves to the basket, unless cutting on a fast break or crashing the boards. he is starting to look like Robert Horry with major D and more regular season showing. nothing wrong with that comparison IMHO, but was it really worth three 1st round picks. I guess time will tell..... you are right. I have not seen a perimeter player develop a low post game before....usually low posters develop perimeter....ala Karl Malone...this is not to say that EG will no become a highly formidable threat in this league, but he is one dimensional on the offensive end and I think he ought to be working on a post up game if there is an intention...which I fear, there is none. in a street ball game, he must be posting up.....so why not now?
