Took him a few years, but I think Von Wafer has found himself an NBA home. I think he'll stay a Rocket for a while. I am thinking Morey would want to keep Von with something like a Hayes-type 4-year contract at $2 million per. You? If that doesn't work out, there's always the option of going to China and milk his "former Yao teammate" status for some money and average 30 points a game like Mike Harris and Kirk Snyder.
Saw him play a little in Denver, I think his game's picked up in Houston. Looks extremely solid to me now. I'd say hang onto him.
Wafer is good, he is really good. His defense might still come in question, but he is already showing that he has a very very large arsenal of offensive moves. If his development continues like this (he is just 23!!), he will become one hell of a player, probably something like Caron Butler. His athletism is something else. Did you see how high he can jump? His elevation on that 3 point shot is insane, add to that he is very accurate. Wafer is also very fast as a player. IMO, Wafer will most likely remain with the Rockets in the next 4 years. If the Rockets develop him nicely, he could become quite a force in the NBA.
If he can play at a similar level throughout the year he might be able to get a Hayes like contract. I wouldn't say he should get one right now but I'm glad to see him bounce back after not doing well over the last few games.
Wafer was great in spurts tonight. Hes a good athlete with some size. He ran the court well and made goo decisions with the ball.. Defense is still questionable, but we dont need him to come off the bench and be a stopper. We need his scoring
If he stays consistent, we should sign him up for a couple of more years. He brings something not many players on this team have which is the mentality to drive to the basket over and over again.
lmao.....morey would not lock him up for more than 1 mil bargain price. The truth is these kind of players are easily replacable, so our wizard would not be dumb enough to waste money on these kind of players. He's barely in the rotation also, unlike hayes. btw, snyder is now playing in China???
i mentioned at the beginning of the season this guy would stick around, everyone seemed quick to call him a fluke back then.....i hope he gets more opportunities.
I kinda fall for this guy then, his quickness,he can shoot the 3s,he can drive to the basket, drawing the foul. Waffle Wafer Keep on doing it.
hes good but we should keep him 4 when we need an uptempo lineup on the floor but i wouldnt say hes found himself a home cuz steve is bout 2 make a major move and get some minutes... GO STEVIE
Kirk and Mike are living large in China. They are the face of CBA right now. Superstar in CBA or journey man in NBA?
Yeah, but CBA superstars still gets less than NBA minimum. Last I heard, Kirk and Mike gets $55K per mongh (don't know for how many months... but I think it's only during the season)). Kirk and Mike's CBA stats actually kinda look like Yao Ming's CBA stats, IIRC.
i am so glad to see we have strong bench players ab, landry, hayes(not his free throw) wafer and "loser" head(joke) they can score and hustle the reb, look at the whole team , it's like a family good to see that dun forger we still have sf3 and barry...... now i hope the team keep healthy and go to the top of the league ohhh, almost forger dorsey, if we keep doing good job, he must be on the court soon.... let's go roxxxxxxxxxx
Well, stuff is a lot cheaper over there too, especially labor. Those two get on the top page of CBA news on Sina every time they play. Here, they would always be the end of bench guy, energizer bunny, victory cigar or garbage time finisher. Much less money, yes, but living it large as a baller.
