I was sifting through Draftexpress this morning when I happened on the stats sheet for FIBA in 07/08. Guess who was on it:

    http://www.draftexpress.com/stats.php?sort=&q=&league=EURO

    Vassilis Spanoulis - Panathinaikos 27.8min, 11.3pts, 2.7 rb, 2.7 ast, 3.0 TO, 44.4 FG%, 35.5 3PT%.

35.5% from that joke of a line they call 3 in FIBA, but we should not be surprised. That massive turnover ratio? It's not his fault, the COACH must not be using him right. In Greece ERR in his backyard, he was the T-mac of his household.

Looking at those numbers, I can see why he no longer wanted to play in the NBA. He saved himself the embarrassment. His A/TO ratio makes Steve Francis look like Magic Johnson. :p

^ within the hour, DaDakota's going to pop in and argue that, if not for the restrictive European definition for assists - he could get his A/T ratio up to a mediocre 1.5, rather than a sub-human <1.0

    ^ ATTN B-BALL SCIENTIST

nobody cares - whine whine whine.

When guys like a 37- year old Anthony Goldwire can outplay Spanoulis in the barnyard league - the boy gots some problems unrelated to the definition of assist.

It's true - and the fact is that Spanoulis failed his way out of the NBA, whined his way out of coming back, and is not really impressing anybody back home either.

    GOOD RIDDANCE

His stats are not as good this year, but he had to share time with that J guy from Golden State.

As for his assists, you guys have already talked about it, I don't know why Fiba doesn't adopt a more liberal Assist interpetation, but whatever.

I honestly think I could run a team better than V-Span

When he was here I used to call him the The Factory (which produces turnovers). See signature...

Dude, I am glad you brought that up. what is going on in your signature? :)

And poprocks, to play along, Sam was not name-calling, but he is wondering now if you are one of two former posters who were either banned or humiliated beyond posting further:
    Kill Bill Pana
Bball Scientist (cannot recall punctuation and capitalization)

They were perhaps (probably) the same poster and they were in deep passionate man-love with V-Span. Same drove them crazy, just like Cpt. Kirk talking to an alien computer, and they exploded.

Just trying to show you a scary path to madness, but as with all newer posters, we must let you go into the darkness. Let him go, let him go, let him go...

Rockets fans, the guy is dead and gone from us. Go ahead and kick him one last time if it makes you feel good. He's just not good enough for the NBA and probably 99% of V-Span fans would finally admit it.

At least he gave it one season. Better to have tried and failed than never tried.
