Seeing as how rookies can't start new threads, that that nickname thread got bumped up with news on KillBill, I figured this thread is appropriate. Especially with the World Championship coming up. Here's some posts from the other thread:

I saw the Greece-Croatia game on tv and Spanoulis had an ok game. As others have mentioned he is not the first option, or anywhere near it for that matter, on the national team so stats dont look great. However, he hustled a lot and even had a great block at the end of the game where the ball got stuck between the rim and the backboard.

Is there any chance he won't make the final Greek team to Japan?

The Defender in the Picture is Bostjan Nachbar(Slovenia).

The only way Spanoulis would miss the WC is when he get injured (knock on wood).

Oh wait a second, that was me. I listened to Yanni live at the Acropolis, and became instantly aroused.

Last Game against Italy was awful.
No strategy in Offence and Defence, just run and gun.

Ok, Hellas won 70:63, but this is not enough for this Team.

    This Time
Zisis (Guard No.3) and the Captain Kakiuzis didn`t play.
Also Mavrokefalidis make space for Sofoklis Schortsianitis(called Baby-Shaq).

Because of the absence of Zisis, Spanoulis had to work much more for the Team.

He had some good moves, but nothing special.
He did score 7 Points in 23min, grab 2 Reb, made 4Fouls, 3TO and 3 Assist!

Guards No.1 and 2 (Papaloukas and Diamantidis) were both the Leaders again.
Fotsis was also good with 14 Points.

Today there will be the strongest challange against France!

    Parker, Diaw, Gelabale, Pietrus, ...

    against

    Spanoulis, Papaloukas, Diamantidis, Zisis, ...

    5h to go ;)

Like I`ve posted again, this is where you will see the Livescore(also click on the Score to se the personal Stats:

    LiveScore

    And 2 clips again:

1st: Diamantidis with an Assist on Fotsis

2nd: Diamantidis with an Assist on Papaloukas

How funny would it be if he's actually 37, like Dennis Quaid in that hokey movie The Rookie, and we just now found this out?

Todays Game against France was a 70:56 victory for Hellas!

Papaloukas didn`t play this Time, so Spanoulis had to play PG a lot, but did it very well!
His best Game with the NationalTeam this far and getting better from game to Game!

He had 11 Points in 21min, but had also 3 Reb, 3Ass and 1Steal.
Except of this Stats he made some good moves against Gelabale, Parker and Diaw and did play also good Defence!

    Diamantidis again the best Player.
Had just 9 Points(4/4 FG) in 28min, but also grab 4 Reb, made Ass and 4 Steals!
He also had an excellent Defence-Performance (like everytime).

The greek Teamdefence forces France to 27(!!!) TO (Parker 7 and Diaw 5).
Parker was the Topscorer of the French Team with 20 Points in 27min, Diaw had just 8 Points in 28min.

Also one Player to have an eye on is Sofoklis Schortsianitis called Baby-Shaq, or simply Big-Sofo:

    2nd Videoclip: (Assist from Spanoulis)

Here is the MVP of this Tournament:

LoL, isn't Baby Shaq a bust? There was a bit of hype about him making it in the NBA a couple of years ago IIRC.
