I love the potential of V-Span and his attitude and think he could really help...THIS year.....If his head is on straight.

I understand why he vented his frustrations, and it may be due to immaturity, or a lack of understanding how it works here in the USA.

I think he should apologize to JVG and the team, and bust his butt in practice....and his time will come.

    So....the poll question is....

Should V-Span apologize for his whining?

damn right he should, even Allen Frigging Iverson can't get away with not taking practice seriously. Yao is the first guy in the gym and the last ne to leave and he's a mega star, who the hell is V-Span? He loafs it practice obviously, and then complains about lack of PT and talk about how he's TMac in Greece? What a joke. Complete waste of our time. I'll bet you JL3 busts it in practice cuz he don't take nothing for granted.

I don't know that he loafs it, but he probably did let the situation grate on his nerves a bit....he will learn. If he works hard, he can be something special.

    But I agree...he should apologize.

Don't know if he has apologized, but action speaks louder than words . Hope he can keep this up through out the rest of the season. It's good for him no matter whether he will get playing time eventually.

This is how things degenerate - First the quote of "I'm Mcgrady in Greece" and then it becomes a slippery slope. Now he is not practising! Maybe he shot his mouth- but you guys are piling on.

Now we are onto something. Like I said, first he goes to social security office change his name to van span, then go to Van Gundy's office weeping like a helpless sissy and start calling JVG Daddy. This should work.

He loafs it in practice. How else do you take this comment? The only way you can have a bad practice is if you loaf it and don't care. If you miss the shots, who cares, that's what practice is for. A bad practice is one whenre you don't work hard and treat it as a joke.

That's not true. I think you took more from the story then is there. If you're not playing well in practice that doesn't mean you're "loafing" it. How did you come to this conclusion?

Now the "source" is your defense! It is plain and simple- JVG has serious issues with Vspan's skill set.

The poll options are cracking me up...

Yes - Apologize and work hard
No - He should speak his mind

Voting for no almost makes it look like he shouldn't be working hard ...

DaDakota, I have to give you a little more credit that I orginally thought. I originally saw you as a complete v-span homer, and jvg-hater. However, I am seeing more balance to your posts. a little refreshing, altough I do feel sometimes you go over board with the jvg bashing. Yes I think v-span was out of place. he does really need to apologize, he just needs to work really hard and not let how much playing time he gets affect that.

Maybe the backlash from this little Greek article was exactly what he needed to spark some determination for Vspan, for him to prove he is willing to work hard enough to help the team play.

Glad to hear he worked hard in practice.. let's hope it continues and he puts forth the effort needed to get on the court.

Also, thanks Clutch for the article about the tid bit. I know that if I worked for the organization I would be leery of posting here on the GARM.. so knowing that they will talk to you gives fans an insight that others might not.

    :) Go Rox!

I think he should apologize, practice hard and just shut up from now until the rest of the season. All of this flak has him painted in a corner. Until recently, he was a guy everyone instinctively rooted for. Now, people are cracking on him. Hopefully he is more careful with the press.

Had he been walking around with some All-NBA teams under his belt then maybe he might have the authority to say such words.

Can you just edit it down to Yes and No?

    Thanks,

He simply isnt ready for the NBA. But the fact that he doesnt know it and has such a competitive fire is one of the few reasons I like the guy. Passion is passion and its always welcomed by fans. He is frustrated, thinks he can make a difference, loves the game, keep talking. I love it!

Just dont expect me to support him getting minutes...

That is the way the polls are - either yah or nay options that don't really apply to your real opinion. I vote a combination of 1 & 2 - speak your mind and work hard in practice so you can get in the game. Squeaky wheel gets the grease, sort of.

USA is a country that prides itself on FREE Speech so everyone should have the right to say what they need to say! With one priviso that what is being said is not harmfull or insulting to the ones reading or hearing the words which have been expounded.
Spanoulis should stand by what he believes to be true and honestly expressed from the heart. If promises were made, the ones breaking the promises are the ones who should apologize.
If Spanoulis has said anything that is untrue or harmful or insulting he should apologize.

Since when is it a crime to speak out in America? Some poster here mentioned he should learn the American way. I thought the American way is to speak your mind.

About more half of you here blasted VSpan mercilessly for speaking his mind. May I remind you guys this is the NBA.

We got dope fiends,Nanny raper, straight up gangsters, guys with rap sheet longer than Deke's whole name.

Remember some of the **** coming out of their mouths?

How about those two recent nasty brawls?

And you guys are piling on VSpan for expressing his frustrations for a chance to show what he can do and help our team?

    Oh the hypocrisy!
