It is looking more and more like we are going to finish 5 or 6 and face either Utah or the Lakers in the playoffs. Against Utah, I think we have a good shot at homecourt, but we have to win the next 4 and then beat the Suns at home too.... So for me, I would rather face Utah again. What about you? DD
Utah if we can get HC would be the best match up for us. The lakers front line is just huge, when Bynum comes back, and we have nothing to counter. Utah's inside scoring is problematic and could be a major issue. Either way it's going to be a tough tough series.
Either way its going to be tough and we probably won't be favored. I picked UTA b/c we match up a LITTLE better with their front court. D Williams is going to murder whoever he plays against though... GO ROCKETS
I want Utah regardless of Homecourt.......I think we matchup ok with them. Williams - Alston - Big Edge to Utah Brewer - Battier - Slight edge to Houston Kirlenko - Tmac - Edge to Houston Okur - Deke - Big Edge to Utah Boozer - Scola - Edge to Utah I do think Scola matchs up with Okur and Boozer and Deke matchup on the block.... It will be tough, but Houston's bench is a bit better, and I think Houston takes them in 7. The Lakers would be very difficult...IMHO. DD
I don't think the Rockets are going to be favored against either of those two, but Utah might be a little better as matchups go.
I want to get revenge from Utah and also prove to everyone that JVG sucks and that Adelman without YAo can still beat them.
Since we're not going to be favored against both of them anyways, Utah. Better matchups + home-court advantage.
UTAH Just remember though, that when you get in the penalty and are up in the final minutes of a game 7---DRIVE THE HOLE!
OMG...no friggen doubt...that still huants me.... I guess you are saying that...we need another Penetrating player? DD
I think Utah is a better matchup for us because: They are small Streaky shooters Not a good FT shooting team No playoff veterans, especially after losing Fisher Not very athletic We have several PF that can rotate on boozer and tire him Not a good defensive team
I want Utah because I want to see how the Rockets 07-08 role players would do against them. The supporting cast is much improved over last year's Rockets.
Personally, I'd rather face the Lakers. Shane does a good job on Kobe, PG's are a wash, and I think the Lakers frontline is 1) overrated and 2) will still be a bit rusty at that point. Having said that, if McGrady can play the way he played the 2nd half last night, I'm scared of neither.
I want the Lakers. They will be favored to win it all, it would be a chance to knock them out. The Rockets could be like the Golden State of last season. Their size will be a problem, but that is true of Utah as well. I think Utah is actually a worse match up for the Rockets. Plus, that high altitude is a problem.
i just don't want to play the lakers. can u imagine tracy penetrating against hte defense of kobe AND 2 big men PLUS a lengthy guy in lamar odom? that's just too much work y'all.
We learned last year that Utah cheats at home. Utah will only lose at home in the playoffs when public perception believes that the opponent is unquestionably better. Otherwise if it's close, the referees will be swayed by the crowd to hand it to them.
if the lakers get back a healthy pau and bynum that play well with each other like the little stretch before they got injured...IMO i see them going far in the playoffs. We got wrecked by bostons big men and I see the same thing happening against the lakers bc what big men do we have?...NONE(except deke) and they have 2 7 footers plus more. oh and dont forget the MACHINE sasha vujacic lol Rox take Utah in six!
I'd prefer Utah if only because L.A. will get all the calls. Utah will get their fair share of favorable treatment at home, but the refs roll over for the Lakers everywhere.
