more than 15 games left, and only 3 games to make up? Come on, Utah seems to be swooning right now, after losing to the 76ers. We can still have home-court this year! Don't resign yourselves to going on the road in the first round! Continue to send out good Karmic thoughts! Woohoo!
Fairly easy schedule too vs Detroit vs Utah vs Phoenix at Utah Those are the only tough ones I see but as we all know the other teams usually give us a run for it as well.
you also forgot New Orleans twice.... to me they are gonna be a challenge because for SOME ODD REASON we always have problems agianst them ... were 0-2 agianst them and one lost came with everyone in the lineup im bettin we can beat them twice but i was just adding to "tough opponent" list lol
I just want our record better than Detroit and any other eastern team! if we dont thats a slap on our face!!
Detroit Hammered the Suns by 20+ in the valley of the Sun !! With Billups not playing the whole 2nd half ! They made the Suns look like a clueless bunch of street ball players out there including Nash who just had 1 Asist at Half time.
I thought that if Utah remained a division winner regardless if Rockets have more wins the Jazz will still be the 4th seed and retain homecourt advantage? I didn't think that even if Rox have the 4th best record in the conference that would translate to homecourt advantage due to the division winners retaining at least 3 of the top 4 playoff seeds.
Nope. If we pass Utah's record, technically we would still be the '5th Seed', and Utah would still be '4th', but it's a meaningless farce, because we would have home-court in that series.
well the other good news is we are 7 games over the 6 seed LA Lakers, so unless we collapse we can't fall any farther down.
if we get passed by the lakers at this point, who we're playing or where will be the least of our worries.
Interesting question: If we made it to the finals as a #5 seed with a better record than the #1 seed in the East, do we get home court? If so, how wierd would it be to play on the road all series, only to get home court in the finals, whereas they would get home court all throughout the playoffs only to give it up in the finals.
A week ago I really didn't think the Rockets had a shot at home court in the first round, but Utah's record on this road trip has really helped. And they still have to play in Cleveland tomorrow. And even if they don't pass up the Jazz in the standings, at least this gives them something to play for the remainder of the season. Cuz they're pretty much stuck in the 5th spot no matter what.
yes, home court advantage is always determined by regular season record and not seeding. I think the year that lakers won their second they didnt have the best record in the west but still had home court to the sixers who was the #1 east team if you need an example
all I know is a lot of you are missing out on Dave2000's offer to see the Utah game in a luxury box. hahaha
the 4 times utah and houston met in the playoffs in the 90's, one of the two went to the finals. just a thought.
