Great offensive mind, but I don't think the alumni like guys like him.

I think Franchione or Belotti would be nice. But, what I want is moot. Mack will not get fired.

Slick Rick? Please tell me you're joking. Mack Brown is the perfect coach for Texas. The man knows how to handle the pressure from the media, alumni, and fans. His only weakness is his unconditional loyalty to his poor coaching staff. If I could have a new staff under Mack, here's who I'd take.

OC: Boise State's OC, Oregon's OC, or Marshall's OC
DC: Mike Stoops, Brent Venables, maybe even Bob Davie

Rick Neuheisel is the Vin Baker of college football.

He shows some talent, waits for his $$, then skips town once people realize his crap is all smokes and mirrors.

As far as the Def Coor., no way theyd leave Bob Stoops to go to Mack Brown.

Who is Texas gonna get better than Brown.....? Stoops and Willingham are taken, and I can't think of too many other coaches better than Mack.....

    Nah,

It took Bowden years to win it all...Mack is on the right track.

Just give him a mobile QB and it changes everything.

The guy is an offensive mind. Something UT desperately needs.

Head coaches have two jobs :

    1) Get talent
    2) Get the coordinators to use that talent(or do it yourself)

Mack does the first one excellently, but his coordinators are sub-par. Keep Akina and MacWhorter, and clean out the rest of the staff.

    and Neuheisel sucks. hard.

For defensive coordinator, I'd want Venebrels (sp?) from Oklahoma. Offensive coord - someone young and creative.

Head coach - Mack Brown is not going anywhere, right or wrong.

Venables, I really think he's the one that does all the work up in Norman, and Stoops the Younger runs around calling the players p*****s.

I wouldn't mind promoting Akina to DC, and perhaps looking into getting a LB specialist. Though that guy at UNT has done a tremendous job with just one legit talent, they play good, fundamental defense up there.

He has problems with the NCAA (CU lost scholarships because of him). And just about everyone hates him, period. He cries that other coaches cheat during recruiting, when he is cheater #1.

It's not worth having the NCAA breathing down your neck. Neuheisel has had numerous NCAA violations at CU and UW. I really don't think a big-time program will risk bringing in a guy like Neuheisel. When/if Neuheisel gets canned at UW (if he doesn't get top 15 or so next year), he will have to work his way back up.

Like I said before, the NCAA will always have Neuheisel's team under the microscope.
