I'm thinking about buying an unlocked Samsung Alias to use on my Sprint account. Anyone have experience using unlocked phones on Sprint? Does it affect internet usage, etc.? Thanks
You can only use Sprint phones with clean ESN's I believe. Not sure if they allow you to bring a device in. Especially another CDMA device. If you're referring to a GSM unlocked device, no way.
Yeah, that's a Verizon phone. Unfortunately you won't be able to use it on Sprint. You will however be able to put it on a regional CDMA carrier (Cricket, MetroPCS)
Yup, you're absolutely correct. If he's looking for regular voice and text service it'll work though.
I want a slip phone with qwerty though and the lotus elite I'm using sucks. Alias has all the features I want.
Are you still in your Sprint contract? For phones like that, you're probably better off buying an unlocked GSM device , and put it on a prepaid carrier such as Straight Talk (they have at&t and tmo sims so that's not an issue)
contract is up in a few months but I'm the main account on a family plan with like 6 other people so I am not sure I can break contract even if I wanted to. If I wasnt on family plan though I'd probably goto prepaid because I just dont use my phone that much for voice.
Each line is an individual contract. How many months specifically do you have to go? I think that after a year with Sprint, every month that passes your ETF goes down by $10 a month. You may only have to pay a good $50 or so to get out of your line only.
Why have monthly plans? I use maybe 1000 min a year, I cannot see myself use more than 2000 min in a year (that's at 200 bucks a year on tmobile).
