Right now, I'm on an aderol and its almost 2 in the morning, bout to start studying for my 8:00 test. I wasn't sure where to put this but: where do you stand on taking pills to help you study? do you think/can prove they work?
i know a lot of friends in college used aderol. i always wanted to take some but never got any. i really do have ADD but i only got diagnosed until like 3 weeks before my finals in my last year, so i never bothered with getting a presciption for it because i had to get an appointment with a psychiatrist and that was gonna take months. anyhow...too much info...sure why not? it doesn't hurt anyone and all i've heard is that it helped them study. i wish i would have had it i can't keep my thoughts straight for the life of me.
Is this like a caffeine pill type thing? If so, is this the best one and do you need a perscription to get it?
naw, its for people with ADD, helps people focus and concentrate. Its like ritalin, but i've heard it's stronger? Do you get it from friends or is there a drug ring for prescription drugs in your school? in high school, i knew a kid who somehow convinced his doc that he needed a triple dose of ritalin, and he ended up selling most of it to people around campus.
its ADDERALL basically it is amphetamine aka speed for some reason, on ADD and hyper kids it slows them down, for the normal ones, it makes you tweek
chemically, adderoll is an amphetamine, while ritalin is actually almost identical (compound-wise) to cocaine. both are very popular here in school as study aids. come finals, kids can make a small fortune selling that stuff. personally, adderoll makes me feel too strung out. a 20mg would keep me up for 12 hrs, and that always sucked. ritalin is easier on me and i can actually concentrate better on it, so that's what i take when i need it. but i dont pop many pills anymore.
Take no offense to this question LongTimeFan, as I am not intendeing to single you out or anything. Curious why you chose to put quotes around drugs in your title. Seems to me that it is common that most people consider drugs to be what the govenment deems illegal like pot, coke, x, acid, etc. The word drug has a negative connotation. Whereas all of the pills that are legal are often considered medicine. Andymoon, would you like to chime in on this observation? The government has spent all of these years and money to label pot as some dangerous drug and yet the industry is cramming all of these new pills into our society and markets them as something we all must have. They tell us to run to our doctor to see if we need all of these new pills that they never really explain what they are for.
By the government definition of "drugs" it sounds like his fit as he is not using drugs that he acquired by legal prescription but from an underground source. IMO, all drugs should be regulated and tested for their varied uses. If college students want to stay up and study, they should have substances available to them that both keep them awake AND keep them focused. BTW, studies show that if you use a substance while studying you will recall the data more redily if you are on the same substance when you take the test. That is part of why I only used caffeine while studying....easier to bring a Coke into class than a white cross.
Man, taking drugs to help you study is like taking drugs while playing ball, unfair advantage, but since ther is no rule against it GO FOR IT.
mateo.. white crosses? is that what they call aderol? there was a big feature story in hustler about how big a problem it has become..
well it is a felony to take aderol without a prescription.. so that's why I guess you'd call it a drug..
coffee is good and all but when you simply can't concentrate because you can't keep your mind straight it kind of sucks. it's not about work ethic either. i would simply sit around for hours and hours trying to get myself to concentrate on stuff and it just wouldn't work. i would study for 10 min and then i would let myself get distracted. i'm not trying to make excuses i just understand how it is for people who want to study and want to work but simply have trouble focusing and keeping on track. it has to be one of the most frustrating things.
I know that feeling. You spend more time looking at the book than reading it. My drug is procrastination. That last minute pressure and andrenaline has to be equivalent to some kind of drug high.
