http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1997274 Entertainers Usher, Nelly and Jay-Z usually are battling for spots at the top of the popular music charts. Perhaps one day, their respective investments might be dueling for big stakes in the NBA. According to reports by the Bloomberg News and the Cleveland Plain Dealer, singer Usher Raymond is buying a minority ownership in the Cavaliers. Raymond, better known simply as Usher, plans to be part of the ownership group led by Dan Gilbert, who recently agreed in principle to buy the Cavs for $375 million. Elizabeth Jones, a spokeswoman for Gilbert, said he would not discuss his ownership group until the deal is finalized and given NBA approval. Usher, 26, has won five Grammy Awards and his most recent album, "Confessions", spent a 12-week run ranked atop the Billboard sales charts. According to Rolling Stone magazine, he earned $25.8 million last year from concerts and sales of "Confessions." A spokeswoman for Usher did not return repeated phone calls, Bloomberg News reported. Rapper Nelly is a minority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, and rapper Jay-Z is an investor in the New Jersey Nets.
