USC - 4 plays 96 yards Lead 7-0 I think this game might be ABC hype (ie "Huskers can upset # 1"). USC out to make a statement. 56 degrees - it's football weather.
i find it hard to fathom that i talked myself into thinking the huskers had a chance in this game all week.
I never thought they had a good chance but when Michigan can lose to a D2 school anything can happen.
man, pete carroll has built a dynasty. you can talk about 1 1/2 championships all you want but they just reload.
I couldn't agree more. They are on a truly historic run and most people are missing it. You know, I still can't get over how USC stumbled and blew the UCLA game last year and missed out on another championship game. Instead of Florida, it could have been them who clobbered Ohio State and claimed another crown. In 2005, USC was clearly robbed of a spot in the championship game against LSU by BCS lunacy that gave OU the nod. If all 3 teams run the table this season, I assume OU will be left out this time. Dear NCAA, please do the right thing and give us a 4 or 8 team playoff.
I think the 2003 USC team was the best one they had. 1.5 titles? I guess - but they would have tarred and featherd either of the teams in the sugar bowl (one of whom they tarred and feathered a year later)
Completely disagree... that LSU defense was the nastiest I've ever seen in college football. Ridiculous. And given that the national championship was in New Orleans, imo the odds are high that LSU wins that season no matter who they play.
They were playing against Jason white and a dink and dunk scheme. Carson Palmer, etc? different animal.
That USC team had Matt Leinart as a sophomore, not Palmer. And I'm not judging it by only the bowl game. I'm judging it by lights out performances against Georgia, Ole Miss (with Eli Manning), Auburn, Alabama, Georgia again, and essentially the entire SEC. That defense was suffocating, and sometimes their greatness gets overlooked on a historical basis because it wasn't as flashy as USC's offense. I think USC was a great team as well, but I give the edge to LSU because they were playing at home.
I meant the 2003 team was robbed not 2005. My mistake. If they had played LSU it could have been a classic. We will never know how good LSU was because that OU team was in a death spiral and put up no resistance.
if vince young would have came back to UT last year they would have had one Awesome winning streak. too bad
yeah because after 3 games this year he is 6th in the ncaa in rushing. and in one of the games getting over 100 yards against a team that hasnt given up 100 yards to one person in over 20 games. maybe the worst running back at UT in a long time...
well hopefully he stops fumbling because if he does that against the sooners its over. him and colt will have to play great if they want to win that game.
