According to USA Today - they indicated that Houston is interested in Marc Jackson but they first want to see if they can gain the exception first from Mo's injury. If so, then he would definitely bolster our frontline! Maybe play Center if Cato falls apart! And DARN Fegan - keepin Moochie on the bench! Mooch should just FIRE the GUY!

One player who has remained unsigned despite several teams expressing interest is Golden state center Marc Jackson, who finished third in rookie of the year voting. Because Jackson is a restricted free agent, the Warriors can match any offer he receives up to $4.5 million.

The Houston Rockets are reportedly interested in Jackson, but they first must learn whether the league will grant them an injury exception worth $3 1/4 million to make up for the season-ending Achilles' tendon injury suffered by Maurice Taylor.

The Rockets also are trying to re-sign free agent guard Moochie Norris, whose agent, Dan Fegan, helped orchestrate the trades earlier this summer that sent Hakeem Olajuwon to Toronto and Shandon Anderson to the Knicks.

Good news. Does anyone know when the earliest is that we can apply and/or get the exception?

I assume that means they can't get Mason. If that is the case I hope the Rockets still try and trade for White. I know he makes good money, but he and Marc Jackson would bolster our front court considerably. I'd take a starting frontline of Jackson and White! That definitely boost the low post offense and the rebounding. White is a good shotblocker.

If we were to get Jackson it would likely JUST be jackson

if we offer so little money as to have funds available for another player than GS will surely match our offer for jackson and get him. we would have to most likely offer the entire exception if granted.

also the exception has already been applied for, and i think you hear within 45 days

or was that you can apply up to 45 days after injury

well i think that still answers your question

True, but trading for Jahidi White would still remain an option.

I very much like the idea of signing Jackson as a back up center and it's a plus to see that he has a good perimeter shot. I'll pull that deal!:)

The Rockets are apparently "talking to Marc Jackson" .... I just got that tonight and the way it was said meant today they were talking to him, but I don't know. I'm hoping to find out more.

Marc Berman, on fox 26, reports that Houston is indeed shoping inthe free agent market. They also show a glimpse of Jackson at the Westside courts. He was in street clothes talking to Cat.

Jackson was asked what he could bring to the Rockets. His reply, "Low post scoring & rebounds."

A quick note, Jacksonn does not look very tall, at least not, standing next to the Cat. I would say 3 maybe 4 inches taller.

That would make him 6'7" or 6'8"

Oh baby, if he brings that he'll be one of my 3 favorites players in history! If we get Jackson this is going to make Cato the 3rd center, no way he beats out the ripped, shredded, cut up, and ripped to the bone Collier for a spot! :)

yeah jackson is probably around 6-8, he didn't look to be that much taller than kobe, even chris porter was nearly as tall as him.

That reminds me of Charles Barkley at 6'5 that can pulled 10 rebounds per game and still manage to score 20 plus points per game.

Does anyone know if there is any sort of timetable for the league awarding the medical exception?

Since the NBA and David "the Evil" Stern hate the city of Houston and the Rockets, I guess they would not give us the exception which would help strengthen our frontline.

    :(
