PHILADELPHIA (AP) — After a lot of secrecy and amid heavy security, the wedding of Allen Iverson and Tawanna Turner took place Friday night. The couple was married at a celebrity-filled ceremony at the Mansion in Voorhees Township attended by 76ers coach Larry Brown, some of Iverson's teammates and several NBA stars at the catering facility known for lavish parties. It was originally believed Iverson, 26, and Turner, 25, would marry in their native Virginia. They have two children, a son and daughter. Turner wore a white gown with a long train while daughter Tiaura wore a similar gown. Iverson and son Allen 2d both wore black tuxedos. Iverson arrived in a white limousine and was cheered by fans who gathered outside the facility for as long as eight hours to get a glimpse of him and the other NBA stars. The secretive affair was the subject of much speculation by television stations and newspapers. The couple took several steps to keep the location a secret, including hiring an out-of-town wedding planner and requiring contractors to sign confidentiality agreements. Guests were told to meet at several Philadelphia hotels, where they were picked up by buses and taken to Voorhees. The drivers were informed of the final destination by radio.
