    Bear Attacks Sub

During the ICEX 2003 naval exercises near the North Pole, the American submarine Connecticut (SSN 22) poked it's sail and rudder through the ice. When an officer looked around outside via the periscope, he noted that his sub was being stalked by a hostile polar bear. The periscope cam was turned on, and these photos of a polar bear chewing on the subs rear rudder resulted. The damage was said to be minor. The SSN 22 is a Seawolf class boat, one of the navy's newest submarines. It wasn't designed as a polar bear snack, but that's how life is sometimes.

    Those crazy animals---:)

Polar Bears are actually very dangerous animals and one of the few animals that will actively hunt down humans as prey. Other animals (like Sharks) sometimes bite humans but generally do not hunt them down.

Any animal that will take on a sub is a tough animal in my book.

Hold on, I think this is a trick. Maybe these bears are just trying to get us to send in the Seals.

We better hurry before global warming melts it all away, maybe thats why the Polar Bear was so mad. He was protesting the Bush environmental policy. J/K Polar Bears don't understand that sort of thing---or do they? :)

Only if he used his laser pointer. :p

    NBC(ish) News Report not really

    Washington, D.C.

In a hurried press conference in the Blueish Room of the Whitish House a grave and determined Donald Rummsfeld today issued a warning to polar bears everywhere...and to those who harbor them.

" We didn't start this fight, but we're sure as heck going to finish it." the SDC said in a brief but pointed statement. " The United States is not going to just sit still and take this kind of naked aggression...The lines have been drawn. Any nation of polar bears...or any nations which sponsors polar bears, and are deemed to be a danger to the freedom and security of the united States will be dealt with in a decisive manner."

When asked whether that included any nations with zoos in which polar bears are kept, or where costumes of polar bears are worn at celebrations, Rummsfeld answered.." I think the statement reads pretty clearly. I would add, on a personal note, that if a nation feels the need to keep anything resembling a polar bear, in any form, it would only be within our rights to construe that as a threat to the United States of America."

    More news as it happens...

The above is entirely ficticious, and for entertainment purposes only...

I saw something about Polar Bears and you are correct that they are very agressive in hunting. The reason is the environment in which they live. It is so harsh that ANY food source is seen as a necessity and is agressively targeted.

I just heard on Fox News that President Bush has requested the help of Jesse Jackson to end this standoff with the Polar Bears. In the past, Bush has snubbed Jackson's peace brokering efforts, but in a surprise turn, Bush has offered Marine One to transport Jackson directly to the Artic for a face to face meeting with the Polar Bears.

I knew it- Bush is a uniter, not a divider. Go Jesse go!

Pfft. This is obviously a government/Jewish/neo-nazi plot to turn Americans against polar bears. Polar bears on the whole are peaceful and cuddly animals. Haven't you seen the Sierra Mist commercial where the baboon is swimming with them? The Bush administration/Zionist controlled media/KKK are obviously out to procure all of the ice and snow found in the arctic. You don't see them slandering Pandas do you. Why? NO ICE. No blood for ice.

I hear France has already surrendered to the Polar Bears. Wouldn't be surprised if they're already providing them with passports to escape the Arctic Circle.

What a beautiful pelt that polar bear would make. I would love to prominently display that on my living room floor.

    Pics?

In the interest of fairness and equality, you have to take that pelt from the Polar bear with your bare hands.
