Ridnour for god sake? Am I missing something here? I don't recall being very impressed with him.

That's stupid, most people don't know that he thrived in a European style offense with Nate McMillan as his coach (an assistant coach on the team), his skills work great for FIBA competitions. If they really wanted someone who was white and a G they could have gone with Kirk Hinrich who is better than him in a normal NBA setting, but he doesn't work as well for the WCs and Olympics.

hinrich's just as good of a point guard as ridnour, but he shoots much better on 3's and is a better defender. i don't see how ridnour is better fit for international ball with his poor outside shot.

There is one Houston Rocket on the invited list, and is pretty much guaranteed to make the team due to who the head coach is.

Most of that is true except that Ridnour can hit from the outside, he just had a down year last year, but for his career he's the better shooter and more consistent. Kirk used to shoot under 40% every year because of his inconsistencies, and Luke already has experience in the type of offense they should be running at the WCs. Kirk's great one on one defense isn't that valuable in international play when hardly anyone plays one on one offense, team defense just like team offense is most important.

Yeah I think he is a pretty decent shooter. Whenever I watch a Seattle game(very rare) he usually knocks down most of his shots but I agreee he shouldn't have been invited over guys like Hinrich, and Gordon.
