Wow, this would be cool to have.

Funny that they say this is worthy of James Bond, because this is straight out of the movie Stripes.

    RM95 and Kagy,
Imagine the revenge you could take on double parked SUVs with this thing!

Electric shock door handles, too. You gotta love that.

Damn, I wish I had waited to get a new vehicle.

When started, its door handles will maintain a high-enough voltage to stun an enemy for several minutes. Its weapons -- the laser and percussion grenades

Lasers and grenades on the highway. Awesome! [IMG]

    I WANT ONE OF THESE!!!

It has front-and-back dazzling lights, which are so bright that the NAC says "the enemy cannot look directly at the vehicle."

    Awesome!!!!

I almost had a complaint to make about the oil slicks, but:

They also plan a hybrid electric propulsion system, which will save gas -- making the SmarTruck cheaper and environmentally friendly -- and reduce noise to the point where one can travel at night virtually undetected.

There used to be a video game (Spy Hunter?) of a car w/ oil slicks and smoke screens 15 years ago. What took the army so long?

I'm all for the military having the latest technology, but this sounds like a complete waste of time and money.

Counter-terrorism? Come on. If anything, this gives terrorists ideas. If the terrorism is bad enough the Army or National Guard is called in, they will be driving very visible army vehicles, not going undercover in a Ford truck. This vehicle would only be used for dignitary protection, and it's not really designed to do that.

Don't get me wrong -- it looks cool, and I'd love to take it for a spin -- But, I'd rather the government find something more useful to spend my tax dollars on.

    You don't consider counter-terrorism useful?
