Report calls Kenny Anderson deadbeat dad

NEW YORK, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Former U.S. NBA All-Star Kenny Anderson is a deadbeat dad who has stiffed at least five of his seven children, the New York Post alleged.

The Lithuanian team Zalgiris Kunas picked up Anderson in January. Although salaries reportedly run from $750,000 to $1 million, Anderson has not paid any child support since then, the newspaper said.

Tami Roman, his first wife and mother of two of his four daughters and a reality-TV alumnus, is furious, the Post reported.

At about the same time Anderson married Roman, he met Suany Castro, with whom he had a love affair that lasted 10 years, ending in 2002, the report said. During that time, Anderson divorced Roman and married Tamiyka Anderson. The couple divorced in 2002.

Unlike Roman, however, Castro and Tamiyka say Anderson still supports them, but not monetarily.

"He hasn't paid child support in over a year," Castro said. "I have a really good relationship with him. He supports my kids in other ways."

Anderson's basketball career has stumbled in the past year, forcing the star to file for bankruptcy. He played for several teams in the NBA.

    I dunno
I find it highly hypocritical and ironic
when a chick who had an abortion
[from the guy she met on a gameshow
    READ 1 night stand ]
wants to talk about a dude being irresponsible

a father's love, imo, should drive him to doing whatever he can to help support his child. given the fact that he has had the financial opportunities to set up his children for life makes it all the more inexcusable.

as an aside, i have a daughter that i have done every imaginable to help support. taken jobs i never wanted. done things i never should have done...in retrospect. two years ago, i made less than minimum wage (annual), yet found a way to pay child support. in fact, i was paying OVER the necessary amount. when my ex took me to court to get a judgement, the judge thought i was lying about how much i made vs how much i paid. when i told her to call my job because they were waiting on her call, she was pretty perturbed. until she called and found out i was telling the truth. the judgement came out to less than i was already paying! still, i send over when i can...

true dat. nonetheless, society/culture/courts hold men to a higher degree of responsibility than they do women.

maybe he's teaching them skills they need for their future...

I can't really take these reports too seriously anymore. It seems like there is so much other drama revolving around divorces and child support and government intervention that if you delved into the details of deadbeats, it doesn't look as indefensible as it would from the outside. Maybe he is just a deadbeat, but I'm not taking the Post's word for it.

True, it's hypocritical and ironic, but he should still play child support - he owes it to the kids, not to her...

there comes a point where it isn't child support

Wait, you guys think the Real World is real? Awesome.

I don't think it's fair to judge based on her "actions" on a "reality" show.

I'd have to agree with you there. Women get way too much protection in this regard. They're allowed to make the harshest accusations against their men and its considered close to truth. All while hardly having their character questioned. Its amazing sometimes how far it can go
(Without turning into male Oprah show here, I'm for abortion. Maybe her keeping that baby woulda made her MORE irresponsible...But overall, still though...)

She showed herself to be a drama ho on the show. And she's a drama ho in real life. So that season was REAL lol. She's hot lookin but you could just tell she was a Robin Givens type times 12
