I think the Rockets will FINALLY prove the doubters wrong this upcoming season. What we needed was a severe infusion of talent and size (they can no longer call the Rockets a team of undersized players). After a brief period of false starts due to lack of chemistry, I expect this team to be a playoff contender after the all-star break.
Well, we are not contending and that could mean the 14th pick, but I believe we make the damn playoffs this year, which is no small feat giving our recent playoff drought history. To be a serious contender, as Morey stated yesterday, we need one more star player. If I could read minds, he is thinking of a PF to fill that slot, our weakest link in the starting lineup.
I think it's a significant recognition by the league that Rockets' young talent has potential. I 22 isn't all that bad considering we have lost every single veteran players from last year. Morey did a brilliant job by shortening our rebuilding time by at least a year. I hate waiting too. Now if we get to land a quality 4 with SnT I think we could very well be competing deeply in playoff runs in 2014.
They're not behind the T-Wolves, the Raptors, or the Pistons either, and they may even be better than the Mavs.
01 Heat 02 Spurs 03 Thunder 04 Celtics 05 Lakers 06 Nuggets 07 Clippers 08 Knicks 09 76ers 10 Pacers 11 Memphis 12 Nets 13 Bulls 14 Wolves 15 Warriors 16 Hawks 17 Jazz 18 Mavs 19 Rockets 20 Raptors 21 Suns 22 Hornets 23 Blazers 24 Bucks 25 D.C. 26 Kings 27 Pistons 28 Cavs 29 Magic 30 Bobcats
To the people rating the T-Wolves so highly, you do know that: a) Kevin Love broke his hand, will be out for awhile, and may be shaky for quite awhile after he comes back b) The T-Wolves were 26-40 last year That team is going nowhere. They're not better than the Rockets and they're not going to make the playoffs. Adelman is an overrated coach and that team does not play defense.
How the hell does Detroit beat us in every ranking by every site? The Pistons have no one besides Monroe. Stuckey and Knight arent all that good. Prince and Magette are clearly past their prime. Jerebko is ok and Drummon has a lot to prove. But then the rest of their squad has the likes of Daye, Vilanueva and Maxiel. Even without Harden, Pistons wouldnt beat us once in a 10 game series, not even close.
Knicks @11 LOL, knicks will be a bust this season, Rockets will go more then rank 22, much more, around 15, let's prove it, Rocket's POWER.
Yeah, I think the rankings are generous, considering how young this team is. It is a great recognition of the talent and of Morey.
