California has the number one economy in the nation and a budget surplus.

Find all the homeless people and make them play squid game so I can at least visit Venice, Redondo and Santa Monica and ride my scooter in peace.

Everyone's moving to Texas. Here's why Californians are leaving.
    Farhad Manjoo, New York Times
    Nov. 23, 2021

Diversity is what Texas has over many cities in the Midwest or the West — places like Madison or Colorado Springs or Portland. Nearly all of Texas’ recent growth has been in populations of color, and its growth areas are as racially diverse as many places in California. Growth cities in Texas are not just racially diverse but also politically diverse, if you’re into that sort of thing. In Plano, a thriving suburb of Dallas, about 60% of voters are Democrats; in Menlo Park, a thriving suburb south of San Francisco, about 80% are — the difference between living among political allies and living in an echo chamber.

Soon those of us who moved here combined with those native born Texans who are not neo-confederates will take over the state and make it a better place as we see now in the large urban centers.

clearly, you have no idea of what ur talking.

in terms of GDP by US states, Calif continues to be the largest ($3.1 Trillion), ~ 78% bigger than Tx ($1.7 Trillion) who is in 2nd place.

If Calif is regarded as a country,

    in 2020,
    • it had the 7th largest GDP in the world
    in 2021
    • it has the 5th largest GDP in the world, surpassing the UK, France and Italy.
    by 2030,
    • Calif is expected to be the 3rd largest, behind only the US and China

Calif politics. post GOP Governator Arnold Swartzeneger, have changed for the better, able to generate 6 consecutive budget surpluses, w a record surplus expected for 2021,
even in the midst of some companies/industries relocating to less expensive states/countries.

    fwiw,

notwithstanding the California exodus (of residents, companies and industries) to less expensive locations, mostly notably Texas, which had started since the late-1980s,
the golden state has continued to grow.

actually, Menlo Park is more of a bedroom community, not so much a thriving suburb.

also, as far as the demographics are concerned, a little nuance is in order,

in the 2020 POTUS election, 80% of its registered voters (Dems/Independents/embarrassed Republicans) voted against the Orange hairs

most of TX is trash…would never want to live in places like Lubbock, Waco, Harlingen, those little towns on the way to Austin or Dallas where the best thing is the local Buc-ees and TGI Friday’s, etc

love Houston for its diversity, great food and people, and just the amount of things it has to offer

I was in dc / north virginia recently and it affirmed my reminder of not being a big fan of 'east coast' and all that goes with it ( culture, weather, etc)
The property taxes very high and the houses in virginia from the 40-50s reminds me of the heights but not in a good way. I much more prefer these woods and the vastness of the woodlands where I am. Everyone loves where they are btw.
So Im done with Houston but no way id want to live in DC..Baltimore..philly..
I would try nyc for a year or so for the experience maybe. I can't see doing that long term but that might be the only place I'd try. Nothing like nyc

It’s good to know that there are people in Houston who are telling stories about Houston
Instead of people in China trying tell Houstonians about Houston

Tennessee ( Nashville) and north Carolina have better weather..seem like they would be good places. I wonder why more people aren't moving there?
