Just a FYI for Zelda fans out there, but Reggie was on that video game show on SpikeTV (Game Head or something like that), and said that Zelda will be out "in the Fall." There have been rumors lately of a release later in the year as opposed to the April/Q2 dates mentioned at IGN/Gamespot (or even the 6/1 dates at EB Games and Gamestop). I usually discounted these as nothing more than rumors, but I guess there's now confirmation about it from Nintendo. To be fair, I don't think Nintendo ever said anything about a release during any of those dates. I think they only said something along the lines of "some time after March 2006." BTW, he also mentioned that it would be a Gamecube game, not a Revolution game. Of course, it will be playable on the Revolution, but he seemed to avoid making any statements that suggested extra features if you played it on the Revolution. Another thing they talked about was that they're still working on a US release date for the DS Lite, and that it will have slight premium over the regular DS. The regular DS will last until around August or so, and then from then it will just be the DS Lite if I understood him correctly. I only caught the latter half of the show (whole show had segments of the Reggie interview), but it sounded like he had several interesting things to say. edit: wait, I guess they did say a April release at one point: http://gc.advancedmn.com/article.php?artid=6236
It seems like I've been waiting forever for this game to come out-- let's hope with all these delays we get the best Zelda EVER. I kinda understand the need to further delay it, as exclusive features using the Revolution controller will help move revolution systems. I can't wait though, this should be the most hyped AND most delayed Zelda ever. Ocarina of Time was one of the best games I have ever played, I'm hoping this one can be of that caliber.
If you waited for ToOT to come out then you have the patience of a Nintendo owner... The game in videos looks a lot better than the screenshots. Something about Link in that toga is a bit queer.
That would make sense, although I didn't get the impression that Nintendo is looking to take advantage of the Revolution controller for Zelda. I believe they asked Reggie about doing this and he said something like "That would be cool, maybe something to talk with Miyamoto about." Still, it sounded like they were focused more on getting the game done for the Gamecube than coming up a way to play it on the Revolution with the controller, or at least that's the impression I got. So maybe they'll consider doing that, but don't assume that you'll be able to use the Revolution controller to play Zelda. BTW, I think the interview might eventually show up on this page: http://www.gametrailers.com/gamehead.php
Here's a youtube link for the part of the interview where Reggie talks about Zelda: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uh0Lw1qflJ4
The rumors usually overhype Nintendo's games to disappointment. I think there will be some limited functions, but it will be as revolutionary as a GBA linkup....
