Here's the official update from the Rockets:

HOUSTON - MRI tests performed last night on Houston Rockets guard/forward Tracy McGrady revealed no tendon or ligament damage. McGrady suffered a sprained right elbow and nerve irritation in the second quarter and did not return to the game. The tests were performed at Memorial Hermann's Roger Clemens Institute for Sports Medicine & Human Performance and reviewed by Rockets Team Physician Tom Clanton. McGrady will be listed as day-to-day.

Thanks for the update, as always. I hope he can play, but I'd rather have him sit out rather then push it too quickly.

the doctors said they need more time to review the images, so that they can determine how long it really needs to take.

I believe they have already. That's why the Rockets released this information a couple of hours ago. Once again, he's listed day to day.

McGrady sure is fragile. That did not look like a very violent collision that caused this latest injury.

the doc says it's day-to-day but a week is the best precaution. even if he's healthy, don't need to rush. want to be as healthy as possible.

let the team prove themselves w/o tracy.

wade's collision didn't look so hard either did it.

what about the collision of the buffalo bills player that caused him to nearly become paralyzed? not a hard hit either.

    sometimes freak injuries happen.

But bending the elbow the wrong way does not really need to be all that violent to hurt.

Come on now. Other than his back, he has hardly ever been injured with anything else. These freak things happen sometimes. Lets just all be glad it isn't what happened to DWade last season. That would've made our whole season a nightmare.

Thanks for the update Hilltopper! :)

worst thing is if its more serious than it actually is. it could go from one week, to two weeks, to three weeks, to a month.

it can if it's a torn ligament. but nothing's wrong. now he just has to wait for it to heal enough.

it's like a sprain ankle, u can walk it off but it'll swell and depends on if that person is a fast healer or not.

tmac has generally been a fast healer.

you've obviously never hyper extended your elbow have you. I might remind you that thats also where your funny bone is. Last time i checked i don't think anyone could move their arm when all the nerves are screwed up. When you hyper extend your elbow its pretty bad pain wise but also you can't really move it, cause your nerves are screwed.

Okay lets see you re-inact that and lets see what happens to your arm. If you actually played any sports you would know that injuries can happen to ANYONE. Tmac is a professionally conditioned athlete and probably has a more resistant body than you think.

I wouldn't worry, we don't have the Texans training staff.

Exactly. Elbows aren't meant to bend backwards too much. Good thing it was not as violent or else it could have been worse than a hyper-extension

football players and hockey players play through injuries... especially in the playoffs.... although hockey players I dont know how they do it...

atleast in football you get 1 week rest before games... Hockey you get 1 day... 2 days if your lucky.....

He'll miss the back to back with Spurs and Suns. We got 3 days rest between then and he'll be back Wednesday. Hopefully someone could make a case for the rotation within these 2 games.
