I thought it had funny moments for sure, MOSTLY due to his mannerisms, timing, but the jokes, like the one you just posted, didn't find that funny. I heard all the Jenner jokes 5 years ago. The laughs were few and far between for me, it felt like a political monologue speech being said in a funny way by the funniest comedian of our generation, which is solid and like I said would make for a great podcast, but missed for me as I was expecting more of a true standup.

But at any rate, I could give two ****s who makes a show or movie as long as it's great. The Watchowskis, both post-gender change surgery whatever, are a good example. Their stuff is great, except the weird over-the-top bouncing wet dildo scene in Sense8.

I will say that sometimes people have a tough time separating their sex lives/kinks from their personal lives and that can be a problem.

 

Maybe it's time for you to think about growing up, @tinman, or has that ship sailed? At least Chappelle could make the argument that he's a comedian attempting to entertain his audience. You're showing us examples, a few below, of the kind of casual bigotry I heard back in the 1960's, only then the targets were usually Black and Hispanic. Not a far smaller minority, their only "crime" being that they are different than you are. They are apparently your latest obsession. I hope there aren't any from the trans community reading your thread.

 

It’s ironic that they’re doing exactly what he was talking about in the special. LGBTQ people go through a lot but I don’t think there’s a more sensitive group of people in this world. It’s not enough to try to understand what they go through you have to understand it exactly the way they want you to or they’re going to shove it down your throat. Obviously it’s not most of them just like there are outliers in every segment but god damn are they loud in this one. I don’t think over reactions like this help their movement at all and it’s ok to comment on things so people can learn without trying to burn whoever their perceived villain is to the ground. Chapelle has a massive amount of fans and it looks like they may have bit off more than they can chew this time.

Love the man DC, even when he's just talking and not trying to set up a punchline ... dude is an artist and captivates with words.

But i also used to love Dave matthews band, grew up listening to DMB .

Can you admire an artist and think their fans are **** ?

Just from my own life , ive seen many new "fans" of chappelle ... they only started becoming his fans once he became a bit of a hero to the anti-cancel-culture movement.

Ive always been a bit of a skeptic ... so its hard to separate genuine appreciation for chappelle's words and comedy from those that are just enthused because they think he's on their "side"
