Hey guys, just got to thinking about this today and figured I would toss it out there. Under most normal circumstances, I like to read every little snippet about upcoming new movies that I ca. - from reading here (of course), to AICN, and other related places, I enjoy getting as much inside info, behind-the-scenes stuff, back story, and sometimes even spoilers too ahead of time. However, I have noticed that this summer there are three movies coming soon, and I realized I have actively avoided reading anything that might be even accidentally spoilerish. Super 8 , X-Men: First Class, and Cowboys & Aliens. I don't know anything about these movies other than what has been in the trailers, and even though places like AICN have reviews up, they are blasted all over with 'Spoiler' tags, so I have actually managed to keep from peeking. (I am referring specifically to Super 8 and X-Men here, I still have not seen anything to hide from yet on C&A). So, it just made me wonder, how do you all feel about this kind of thing? Do you actively run from spoilers? What other movies are on the way which you are hotly anticipating while steering clear of the spoilers?
well, of course i run away from them. who wants to know what happens in a movie before they watch it?
I try to stay away from spoilers although it's 50/50 for me if I see a spoiler tag here. Just can't hold back. However when I'm watching a movie for the first time on DVD or on the computer, I usually start from the back.
What I hate are trailers nowadays give away so many spoilers. For instance trailer for Super 8 kinda give me the impression that this might turn into a cutesy alien like ET that is misunderstood and trying to get home. How did I come to that conclusion? One part of the trailer show that a guy mentioning a guy is missing its engine is just part of it. I definitely stay away from reviews with spoilers but I still do read some of them to see if I still want to watch it in theater. I usually stay far away from IMDB because there are trolls that start spoilers in their title.
The new Harry Potter movies -- I was excited to see them, but was pissed when I found out he dies at the end before I even saw the first movie.
Concerning Harry Potter.....come on? It was a joke. But don't go see Tree of Life. It has ****ing dinosaurs in it. That's not a joke.
I think Super 8 is definitely the one film I want to go in with a totally clear mind. And even though I've read Harry Potter, I wanna go fresh as well. Don't wanna know what they've changed and how they've interpreted things. Wanna be pleasantly surprised.
