Mitch Hedberg will be a the Laff Stop on W. Gray this weekend! I got my tix for the late show on Saturday night... anyone else like Mitch? also Dave Atell is coming 2 weeks after Mitch!!! I got my tix for that show too!!! Dave Atell is the guy that does the Insomniac show on Comedy Central... I've never seen his stand up, except for excerpts on Insomniac. I'm really looking forward to seeing him... Speaking of comics, where's AnotherBrother? he must be on tour.
Does that mean he'll be doing an Insomniac episode in Houston? I love that show. Anyone heard of Larry The Cable Guy? Is he funny?
I can't remember if I read it here or elsewhere, but he doesn't run with Insomniac anymore in the states because people recognize him now and pose for the camera. His latest tapings have been abroad in Europe...
That's "the movie guy", right? He used to be on Stevens and Pruett (rip ) all the time. Band Geek, didn't Atell do an episode in Houston? I swear I caught the last 3 seconds of it and I keep looking for the repeat but I haven't seen it.
ima_drummer: Yup, that was him, but he did soooo many other funny things. If you ever get a chance to see him, GO! He and Richard Jeni are my favorites of all time.
yes he did.... he went downtown, to a midnight rodeo, to an after hours club, to astroworld and to the alabama ice house.
I was at the Icehouse when Atell was there, I'm on camera for approximately 1 second as the camera pans across. Dayum, I love Mitch Hedberg but I'll be in Austin this weekend. Bummer.
Larry The Cable Guy is hilarious. I saw him on tour with Jeff Foxworthy in Denver. He stole the show. Speaking of Another Brother. I hear he is going to be here in Indianapolis soon. I want to go see him when he is here so I was wondering if anyone has a link to his website so I can get time and dates. And if you are listening AB, hook me up homey!
Damn, I normally listen to B&T whenever BigDog106's signal is strong enough, should have let us know you were on yesterday.. btw, still interested in that Yamaha organ?
Well, I went to see Mitch Hedberg last nght. The show was good and Mitch looked pretty ****ed up... at one point he did the show from behind the stage curtain, that was weird. People also kept calling out for him to do old jokes, he didn't want to but after several heckles he obliged. He also said, "you f**kers are making me lazy, I have new material, but if you just want to hear the old stuff, here goes..." But it seems as if the show actually begins at the door. So I walk up, alone, to the door. The jerk taking tickets asked me, "are you alone?" and i look around? uh... yeah, just me. I think to myself "how many f**king tickets did i just hand you? one! That's what i should've said. But i just looked at him and around and said "yeah" - then I handed him my ID.... the sign above the door had a thing about WE ID.... so naturally I just had it out to give to the guy with my ticket... the jerk said, "What are you doing? Did I ask for your ID? Only chicks flash their ID's!" I was like, "whatever...." Then some usher attempts to lead me to my seat. I'm walking behind him and we get to the area where I'll be sitting in and he pats the back of of the next seat, so naturally I take that as the sign that the chair he pats is mine... so I sit down... then a minute later, he comes up and is like, "that's not your seat... it's over there" Well then why the hell did you pat the back of that seat? What a joke... and I thought the show was on stage, apparently it happens all before you sit down!?
If anyone likes Bill Hicks, Trio (DirecTv) is running Uncensored Comedy Shows the entire month of June. Last night they had Lenny Bruce's 2nd to last nightclub show he did before he died. They will be running a Bill Hick's show next Sunday (15th) at 9pm EST. More info here: http://www.triotv.com/programs/shows/uncensoredcomedy/
Watched the show on Mort Sahl earlier today. More of a documentary actually. This is the guy that broke all the barriers for the likes of Lenny Bruce and Woody Allen to follow. Very interesting viewing. http://www.pbs.org/wnet/americanmasters/database/sahl_m.html
