Many teams have untouchable players, such as kobe and gasol for the lakers, lebron for cavs, wade, nowitzki, carmelo, tyreke, CP3 Who out of our active players are untouchable? Or are any of them? Are we the only team without an untouchable?
I'm waiting for someone to say jermaine taylor so we can get that joke out of the way.... who wants to take it?
Yao. If he wasn't a huge Chinese icon and wasn't very lucrative in the international market there would be alot more people thinking about moving on like most are doing with McGrady. Yao is a huge money maker for the Rockets organization and it will take Yao saying he's not going to play in the NBA anymore for Rockets to let him go.
Nobody really. Landry would be untouchable if we hadn't tried to play hardball with him and instead would have given him a 5 year deal for a bit more money. Now we may as well trade him since he'll be worth a lot when it's time to resign him and he'll remember that we were pricks last time.
I know this is business and all at the end of the day, but I can't see Landry ditching the company unless the numbers are ridiculously different. The Rockets have shown that they are willing to spend money so if Landry keeps up his current production, I can't see them just letting him walk away. They will pay him his market value. Now I can't speak for what the agents will do. I am not sure if anyone is untouchable at this point, but the closest to untouchable would be Brooks, Landry, and Scola. The production we are getting from these guys in light of the money they are getting paid makes them close to untouchable. Only reason they aren't 100% untouchable is because the reasons that make them close to untouchable also makes them amazing bargaining chips for a superstar.
I agree with you on this one. I also want to add Lowry to the mix. He has shown that he is an important asset to the this team. These players are untouchable in terms of being excellent role players for an elite star (let's say, off the top of my head... Yao  ). However, business-wise, unless you are very marketable (moneymaker for the owners), you are very touchable at the end of the day...
Yao, and only Yao. Les Alexander would love nothing more than to sell a Yao jersey to every chinaman.
