 Chris Duhon could have been traded up for or inluded in the Mutumbo deal, just add reese gaines, or the like, we got the wrong player from NEW ORLEANS, dan dickhou (sp) would have been a better aquisition. You never realize how good John Stockton actually was for the JAZZ in how he knew how to run an offense. I hope we can find a poor man`s john stockten somewhere and use the shooting 2`s/point guards for role play sparks off the bench!:)

If we do not have T-Mac who would do the scoring for us? We do not have a good scorer without him.
T-mac is a great player, we lost one game why do people already start talking about who is better then T-Mac. i know alot people said he was one of the 3 best in the nba.
do not overreact to one loss

So lost.... the poll has nothing to do with the post whatsoever, and the post borders on incoherence itself. Riiiiiiight....

    hindsight. tsk

what if we had signed damon jones
what if we had drafted rashard lewis
    what if .......

I think our point gaurds are much better than what we started off with (ward and gaines)

Sura and James play alot like francis used to, they isolate alot, and take it to the rack, which is quite frankly something im glad to see.

I mean the Tmac Jumpshots are great and all, but the only way to get a wide open shot is when you draw the weakside defender on you after you cross up your own defender.

Now all we have to get our gaurds to do, is to throw that ally up to yao when dampier comes over to help on D

There is a reason why we lost so many regular season games in this same fashion, Yao would score, nash would score, set up richardson, and make everybody around him a better player...just look at the difference in Stoudamire`s numbers between last year and this year. Think what he would do for Yao....six dunks a game possibly for Yao:)

Look, Steve Nash is goin' nowhere. You better believe T-Mac is goin' nowhere. Yao ain't gonna go anywhere. Sura is signed, and Sura is solid. Tonight was the first time in how many games the Rockets lost, 11? Chill out. The Rockets PG situation is solid.

its amazing we could have had carlos boozer instead of that stupid point card out of fresno or something who had a history of issues, forget that we have 3 powar forwards and draft the best player available rudy, and I know Duhon could have been had for a second round pick. It is amazing how chicago already has a point guard and they get him, and san antonio has Ud. (whatever) and we can`t even get someone who actually plays point guard on our roster except for these 40 year old rod stricklands, mark jackson, charlie ward...it doesn`t do good to make good trades on one hand and then sign old free agents who are not point guards, ward couldn`t even get off the bench for san antonio last year....why give him a 3 year deal?

I am not talking about winning a series against soft dallas, I am talking about playing a team like detroit who has all the pieces to the puzzle, there guards would eat our lunch with defensive ball pressure...you ever notice how Sura dribbles with his head down a lot of the time...no wondewr he doesn`t see Yao wide open under the bucket b/c he is not a point guard he has to do all he can just to keep from getting the ball stolen from him with soft jason terry guarding him let alone a larry brown pressure attack on sura`s weak ball handling skills.:(

Funny how I can vote multiple times. This would leave only YAO as the other player - 4?

I don't know how anyone could complain about Sura's play last night. 21 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 turnover. He played great.

Yeah, in 19 shots. Forced issues when he really shouldnt. I love Sura's energy. We need that. The way he stared back at Stack, fugging A. I love it. But he does need to play a little bit smart as a PG.

in the late 3qtes, we throw some meaningless 3pts shot by guards! if we can control the tempo w/ a true guard, we can get 15 pts lead!! JVG should let YAO rest for 2-3 mins on the bench also. YAO had great game, his number can not reflect it! When he was on the court, ROX doing everything right, and sucked when he on the bench!

    Where do I start?

First of all, T-Mac is doing the PG job as a bonus since we don't have good passers on this team besides him and Barry. His job is to SCORE, that is what we are paying him for.

That fact he can defend, rebound, steal, and even occasionally block a shot or two - and put on a passing exhibition to feed his teammates - is really all a plus.

The way we are using Tracy is not really ideal (as a point-forward), but seriously, if he plays PG, then who the heck do you start at SF? He is not a PG, and he didn't sign up to be one, the fact that he pretty much runs our offense, at least until Barry gets in and helps him out with the passing, is pretty impressive.

The title of the thread is pretty stupid, because you are implying that McGrady has to be EITHER a passer or a shooter, when in fact he does both pretty well.

The problem is we are stuck with the PG we have right now, who are more of scorers/shooters than they are passers. But really, name me more than 3-4 teams in the league who have "pure" PGs. That is just the card we are dealt, and we have to make the most of it.

1.) All of our resources were tied up in the upcoming McGrady deal at draft time. We had a late 2nd rounder and no first rounder. Why would the Bulls include him in the Mutombo deal? We destroyed them bad enough on that swap.

2.) He's so good you just mudered his name. I fail to see how adding a 41% shooter and a 35% 3P% shooter who is yet to play a hint of defense is better than Wesley's tough D and proven shot.

3.) How many rings does Stockton have?

I would not trade T-mac for anyone in the NBA so I would always pick T-mac and anyone in a poll against 2 other NBA players.

Bobby Sura may not be Steve Nash, but he does play a passing and shooting point guard for us which is nice. (Mike James might be better to put in your poll because he is mainly a scorer/slasher.)

There are many games when Sura plays 30 or more minutes that he has 5 or more assists. We have lost 1 game to a team that won 58 games this year, not a team like Atlanta. We are doing fine right now (aside, of course, not having Juwan Howard right now).

Talk about bandwagoneers. You guys criticize the media for showing the Rockets "no love". Yet the so called Rocket fans, flip flop on their own damn team within 24 hours. TMac went from the next Jordan to being a loser and Sura went from fainting to sucking. Come on guys. Have some perspective. You are the same people who will praise the team when they win by 2 and you will bury them when they lose by 2. We scored enough points. We just didn't play with great defensive intensity and focus. It happens, you know. Did you think the Rockets were never gonna lose again???? BE Realistic
