I usually don't post unsubstantiated reports, but my friend just left me a message on my cell-phone. He told me he was listening to 940 AM and that there was report that the Rockets were in heated discussions with another team. My friend said they refused to give details. All they would release were the initials of the player the Rockets were after: K.G. I really hate posting this since it is not confirmed, but my friend really sounded excited and I don't think he is pulling my chain. Anybody else heard anything?
I don't see how this would work... it's obviously not Kevin Garnett, and a highly doubt the Rockets want Kendall Gill! (those two are the only NBA players with the initials KG)
There are only two K.G.'s in the entire league... Kevin Garnett and Kendall Gill. No offense, I just don't think a radio station would hold back if they knew, and why would they only know initials?
Kelvin Garnett for Kevin Cato? This seems the only possibilty at this point. We just signed practically everyone, so we can't trade them for another two months or so. It would be very difficult to get him here, considering his salary. Francis Cato Mobley W Williams Wouldn't it take all four of them at least to reach his salary? Oooohh OilyPier ....
If the Rockets traded for Kevin Garnett (assuming that is who they are talking about) without giving up Francis or Mobley, I would bow down to the altar that is Rockets management, kiss their feet, kiss their @ss, worship them, and give them gifts to show my allegiance. I mean my god! You're not sure he meant KC did you? I could see the Rockets talking to the Raptors about Keon Clark.
Ok, I have been listening to 610AM here in houston for about an hour now, and they mentioned KG jokingly..... nothing to get excited about, it was a joke....
This would be my guess. KC sounds a lot like KG if your not paying close attention. After seeing the Rocket's game last night, Clark would be a nice fit. He's young, can run, blocks a lot of shots, & has played in 81 games in each of the last two years. Besides, I believe that Griffin will develop into a Garnett type of player.
There's no way, but just imagine it . . . Francis, Mobley, Eddie Griffin and Kevin Garnett ON THE SAME TEAM . . . HOLY COW WHAT A LINEUP . . . Things that sound like KG: KT Katy KC Casey Cagey . . . Kagy . . . are they trading for BrianKagy? KB
Stevie Franchise, Cat, Griff, and The Kid KG on 1 team? BWAHAHAHA! And exactly why would David Stern allow a Houston team to have that much talent?
Someone needs to lock this thread. No one in their right mind would trade Garnett for anyone on the Rockets team including Francis. Maybe they did say KC, which isn't any better than what we have.
Not to be a spoiler of unsubstantiated rumours but surely if we acquired KG we would ahve to give up either Cat or Steve plus EGriff and Achebe and 1st round draft picks for the next guzillion years
Cat or Mobes? both??? Perhaps KT? Kurt Thomas of the NY Knicks? I'd rather have Keon Clark... or would I. hmmm...
Rocksmillennium's post was hilarious! I laughed out loud. You guys are great. If the Timberwolves trade K.G. they might as well go out of business; no way that is a possibilty. We would be in the Western Division Finals against L.A. with K.G. (if we still had enough players left after the trade!)
The Trade would work according to RealGM.com trade ID # 394057 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Minnesota trades: Kevin Garnett $22,400,000 to Houston TOTAL: $22,400,000 Houston trades: Glen Rice $8,800,000 to Minnesota Houston trades: Walt Williams $5,000,000 to Minnesota Houston trades: Kelvin Cato $6,048,000 to Minnesota Houston trades: Cash Considerations of $3,000,000 to Minnesota TOTAL: $19,848,000 TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Minnesota and Houston being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Minnesota and Houston had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Minnesota would also receive a trade exception of $2,552,000 with this trade. This would have to be used within one calendar year from the date of this trade. Be aware that this exception will be extinguished if the team which possesses it falls below the cap by the combined amount of the exceptions it currently possesses. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In real gm it might work, but if McHale was even for a minute thinking about that one, I would know the crack trade in Minn is alive and well.
