Vikings @ Texans Monday on ESPN. The Favre love fest begins at 7:00 with Monday Night Countdown starting an hour earlier. NFL Network re-air will be Tuesday at 9:00am. Please no injuries to the Texans.
Can the real games start please? I just can't wait for a start to a fresh new season filled with realistic playoff expectations for the first time. The Stros not being in the middle of their annual 2nd half push is making me even more eager for the football regular season to start. As for the game on Monday, all I hope for is for the first unit to get some successful actual game reps in and no injuries to occur. The Vikings will be a good test as they are a contending team but I am just sick of the Favre love fest. I hope Mario Williams lays him out good on Monday.
Ha, I wish they could play game 4 of the preseason as a double header to the vikings.. just want the season to start already. I'm eager to see the adjustments we make in the defense. No arm tackles porfavor!
Finally a Texans game in HD. Last week it looked like we were in black and white with red blobs for numbers.
Agreed. We made the Saints RBs look like AD out there last week, Bush and the D-Line need to have a good showing.
I am actually going to the game and its my first MNF game...anything cool to expect or is it a typical game just at night? Sorry to seem football stupid but to young back in Oiler days and couldn't go to the Jax game last year. Just didn't want to be suprised.
Traffic is a little heavier since it's a weeknight. Although I doubt it'll be a full house there could be 50,000+ going to the game. The parking lot will open at 3:00 and the stadium at 5:30. The roof will be closed for the game.
Just changed mine to this: http://thesportsunion.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/mario-williams.jpg Only thing I care about tonight is NO INJURIES.
That is such a great picture. I always have it on standby for a few weeks of desktop action. Let me second the no injuries statement. Hopefully we can keep that douchebag Jared Allen out of our backfield where he likes to dive at the QBs knees. On second thought a nice chop block is in order, we owe that douche one.
If they got 70,000 in there for New Orleans last week (even with a lot of Saints fans), I have to believe it'll be similar for Monday night football and Brett Favre. That, and they have sold out every home game in team history. They probably had 50,000 in there during the 2-14 season. It's a cool atmosphere, especially playing at night. Last year against Jax with the roof open was amazing...too bad it'll be closed tonight. rockets934life- just get there early, as early as possible. This way you are in your seats when it starts...the player/team introductions are pretty entertaining.
I think you're right about tonight.... but I've been to preseason games there where it's half-full or less in terms of people actually showing up.
CAN'T WAIT! WHOOO! I have yet to see a game on tv this preseason. This is my first! I'm so happy football is back, and regular season is just around the corner.
Yep, and ESPN's HD is pretty top notch too. Really looking forward to watching this game. So glad it's not a lame channel 13 broadcast.
Woke up this morning and it was actually cool out. I get to watch football tonight, too? Freakin sweet. Oh, and while I never hope for anyone to get injured, I wouldn't mind seeing a Texan "slip and fall" into Jared Allen.
Well, if it stays pretty cool do you guys think they might just open the Roof? Pretty pumped about going to the game hopefully the place clears out early and I can move down downstairs ala Minute Maid. Also, thanks all for the advice on tonights game ill try to get there early and enjoy the Intros!
Gotta love how it's cooling off. They are saying 59-60 degrees for the next two nights for this area of east tx. Monday 86° F | 59° F
