bigtexxx already thinks this class will be a failure after 8 recruits? Big suprise. I agree that adding Mallet would be really nice. But we picked up Snead last class so I don't think the QB situation is as dire as it was before he committed.

I'm very much looking forward to UT2007. They say it's going to be a big upgrade to UT2004. I just hope I have the computer power to run it.
I declare that from now on, every response to a bigtexxx post relative to UT football which has some sort of forecast (invariably negative) should contain the following phrase, in reference to his having lost zillions on the futures markets after the rose bowl TURN THOSE MACHINES BACK ON! (apparently his losses were so severe that his internet access was turned off by his creditors, which would explain his lenghty absence from the board in January 2006)

Quite an impressive haul this weekend with 8 verbals. I guess Mack is just about done rebuilding the O-line with the 5 guys that he picked up this weekend. We still have an offer out to a kid named Trey Allen, but he's probably not going to decide until closer to signing day. The focus now shifts to the defense where DT Andre Jones and LB Richetti Jones are next on the big board. We also have offers out to RBs, Foswhitt Whitaker from Pearland and Lennon Creer from Tatum.
two areas of concern for the 2007 class was OL and DB. OL is well taken care of a month after the 2006 signing day, but does anyone know what DBs Mack is going after? i keep hearing a kid named ronald johnson who is an oos guy from michigan. what's the story on him? considering texas looks weak for db's this year, mack might have to go oos to fill up the db position. there's gonna be a huge drop off when brown, ross and griffin graduate.
