So it is possible to have the "best offense in the league" with mediocre completion percentage. A completion percentage two points lower coudln't possibly automatically equal ridiculous. Bottom line is, was tight end a position of strength for the team? Yes. Are they still trying to improve that position? Yes.
I don’t think that is the case. They get there guy quite often and athletes retire here all the time.
Retire here because Houston is affordable and fun. I’m saying the team. It’s never been a destination spot. Franchise is labeled lower tier. Deshaun has a lot of work to do before someone wants to join.
Guys, think about this. FA Feeding Frenzies usually don't go well for the big spenders. So far BG has been prudent in his spending, but at the same time improved the two key areas we had weaknesses. Is he done yet? I don't think so. Whether we can get someone like the Honey Badger will tell us a lot. TM as many of you have said. "Is the play-maker we've never had in the backfield or since Aaron Glenn at least." If we do have interest, we should role out the red carpet and sign that young man. He'll instantly change our defense and give Romeo a different chess piece to utilize on the field. If we're not jumping through hoops to let him know how much we would love him on our team, then I'll concede that "Houston we have a problem". Also, why wouldn't we be interested in Crabtree? He would be a great addition to our offense. As for Ebron, never been a fan, but maybe he's just now starting to get it. I don't see us spending big money of ILB or DL. We're pretty solid there and have a big mixture of youth and experience. Suh would be a terror, but too expensive for what we're trying to do. By this weekend, we should have our answer on whether we'll spend on a Savage Safety or keep looking in the bargain bin.
If EJ Gaines goes for something in that range and we don't sign him then this team is stupid. You can cut Kareem Jackson, sign EJ Gaines and actually save $2 million while getting significantly better. I'll be shocked if Gaines signs somewhere with a cap hit under $5 million though. That's ridiculous.
His injury history is pretty rough. Missed 10 games the last 2 seasons and all of 2015 to lisfranc. I’m all over that if 4-6M is the asking price though.
All depends on if ej even wants to come be an inmate in texas, remember we stiol have the death pen.......
Its just seems weird to me that you have a beast of a young QB, and a good solid defense, but no players have taken any visits with us (we really haven't made any splashes) now this could change rapidly, but at the moment it seems like players are not thrilled to play for the Texans.
I really thought it would have change when Rick Smith left, but same ole stuff. this time you cant blame it on the salary cap (we have plenty of that)- there is just a lack of splashes.. Maybe they are working the phones and really trying, but they sure do keep it tight lip, because every other team is all over the news on players there interested in.
Brent Celek looks like a tight end the Texans would like. Tough guy, blocker, okay hands. http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/2018/03/lions_meet_with_brent_celek_as.html
