Here's the situation. My Cingular cell phone crapped out and I need to buy a new phone. I'm not eligible for an upgrade until June and I didn't have insurance on the phone, so if I buy a phone from Cingular it will have to be at full price. Has anyone ever purchased a phone from ebay, ubid, etc. over the internet? Was it "unlocked"? Anyone have any ideas, suggestions, experiences?
My friends have done it all the time and there is no problem at all with them. He usually bought locked versions which were a bit cheaper and bought an unlock code for like 12 bucks and your set to go.
You can also buy the unlock codes online through ebay and a number of other places. Im not sure most Cell phone stores actually do it. But the little kiosk ones in malls usually do. The little 3rd party vendors.
you are seriously going to get the best deals off of ebay for all types of phones you can't even get here in the states and get those unlocked as well.
type in unlock phone on google, and you can find one that'll give you the codes for like a $5 charge...
