Union thugs rough up peaceful protestors at townhall meeting

First of all, this video was posted in the other thread about the town hall meetings.

Second, there wasn't any "rough[ing] up" in that video whatsoever. Why do you feel the need to lie when the video evidence doesn't back up your lie?

This situation is quickly turning into a powder keg. The White House's arrogant, dismissive, and insulting response towards these protests is truly unbelievable. The Community Organizer apparently now has a problem with communities organizing (now that they are against his policies).

What happened to the promises of bi-partisanship that Obama campaigned on? This Administration has made absolutely zero effort to be bi-partisan. Zero. Their utter disgust expressed towards Americans' freedom of assembly (a right granted in the Constitution) is very very troubling.

I do not expect this to end well.

 

It's gonna be a long hot summer....

Yes, the irresponsible, vitriolic exhortations of morons like Glenn Beck, inciting their viewers to aggressively attack these town hall meetings is turning what should be a reasoned discussion into a series of shouting matches.

The tactics these fringe wingers are exhibiting are disgusting.

How many discussions has Obama's team had with the GOP? That's right, he sent out invitations to the GOP senators and here was the result...

On Wednesday he invited four Republican senators to the White House to discuss health care. Three -- Sens. Saxby Chambliss of Georgia, Bob Corker of Tennessee and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska -- are seen by colleagues as highly unlikely to vote for an Obama-backed plan.

The fourth, Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, is a moderate Republican viewed as a possible supporter, even though she has demanded changes in the Democratic-drafted bills.

Even those who accepted White House invitations said it's hard to imagine that Obama thinks such chats with conservatives will win him any votes.​

There is a large difference between freedom of assembly and the freedom to simply obstruct civil discourse. These "protestors" are not bringing anything but vitriol and volume to the town halls they are attending. I would have no problem with any of them if they stood up, took their turn at the mic, spelled out their disagreements, and let the other people take their turns. Instead, they yell, chant, and do anything else they can to keep the intelligent and civil among us from having a fruitful discussion.

In other words, Fox News has brought a bunch of mombassa_jorges out of the woodwork and into the spotlight. They deserve to be shut out of the process as they are not brining any constructive discourse to the table.

I don't expect it to end well for people who think that it is acceptable to turn a town hall meeting about healthcare into a near riot. I hope they are arrested so that maybe we can get some real, thinking conservatives to the microphone. I hope that the intelligent conservatives stand up and take their party back from these morons soon.

People who were shouting and disrupting a town hall meeting were moved back so that the door could be closed and the meeting could proceed. No roughing up at all.
