I just sent in my opinion to the Rockets on the Uniforms. I wonder how they handle all the emails, do people sit and read through all of them, or do they go to an automatically delete folder. Either way, my suggestion was that they keep the blue and red, but that they use red and gold sunday alternate uniforms. I thought it was an original idea until just now when it occured to me that Philly has those blue uniforms.
Here is what I emailed them: Keep the Rockets lettering on the front of the Uni's we have now. Go with a more look like the Raptors have as far as shape and texture and material of the Uniform. Add a hint of nostalgia to the sides shooting downward. Lose the Stripes. Make it 3 seperate Uni's One for Road and One for Home and the third for when we play East teams away. First color of Uni should be a solid Red for Home games with the lettering on front as described and the players number in the middle and on the back there name with a slight streak of yellow shooting doward towards the shorts for nostalgia. Shorts should be Red in color with the Rockets logo which should not have teeth and the Rocket should be more threatning in look. this logo should be noticed but not too noticed. Now for away games A solid blue not navy but a more traditional blue with same type as home but the lettering a hint of yellow around the edges to keep the traditon. Now for those who still like the stripes have a hint of white stripe going down the sides all the way down to the shorts<just the sides> Shorts should be blue in color as well with the logo. Away Uniform for eastern conference teams go with a complete white Uniform with same material used that the raptors use. the lettering on the front will have Blue edging around it to give it color. Have a blue streak going down the side all the way down the shorts. Now the logo: The basketball is nice however the rocket with teeth has to go we something more agressive something that has punch that will show the other teams were back again. Rocket in general needs to be more futuristic Basketball is Nice but something needs to be done to the rocket instead of swirling around the ball how about launching straight through the ball somehow. I am not an artist so anyone can design what I am saying feel free.
I think he's wearing some kind of stocking on that left leg. I feel that Laker vibe with having a colored home jersey, but as for the white away alternate, I don't think that could happen since most teams use white for their home color.
Olajuwon had to wear that sleeve on his leg after his blood clot thing from 88-89 or 89-90 forget which year. I think 88-89.
Troy, I'm pretty sure teams on the road can't wear white uniforms. The white or light uniforms are only for the home teams use. os
here's what i had to tell them... After seing your question about whether we wanted the team to go throwback or be trendsetters, it made me realize that I would absolutely despise the Rockets trying to be trendsetters again. Other than modifying the cut of the jerseys that most teams use, i would suggest that the organization PLEASE not go space age again. You would be more assured that there would be no widespread distaste amongst fans and players if you went with the traditional approach, a la seattle. however, a mix of the cutting edge and the retro, i feel, should be in order. apply the retro concept with the logo, it'll make the symbol of our affection timeless like the texans did. cutting edge should be exerted when making the more replacable part of the team's getups...the jerseys. with these, use some silver of orlando's quality and stick with the blue and red, but try and modify the red kind of like the astros or the comets. no fire engine please...here's my specific suggestion...home games could feature a predominantly silky silver jersey with a thick strip of midnight blue on either side (i.e. raptors' silver stripes) with the logo a simple "rockets" that is inset in a solid, modified-red oblong circle, the teams name slightly larger than said circle. no arm trim, use the lakers cut. then in away games use the red color as the main setting with the silver down the sides and trimming the oval, which in this case would be midnight blue. thank you for allowing me to add my imput, Life Rockets Fan

It looks to me like Rudy and Hakeem got their legs switched. Is it me or do some of the uniforms (Dream and Clyde) look like they've been touched up some way or another?? os
i'd like it if the Rockets went to more of a vintage style with the logo and colors. i like what detroit and seattle did with their uni's. a classic update. but please get rid of the current font, logo, colors...everything about the current scheme sucks.
It's probably just me, but I think the Raptors' uniform is already dated. I used to think it was nice, but it's old now. Like I've mentioned earlier, make it like the Celtics, something classic and most importantly, clean and to the point. The Mavs have awesome jerseys, instant classic. The details, like the *small* star on the back make it delicious. And please, no complicated cartoon assed logos. It doesn't even need to be a rocket, maybe just a stylized H, so we can represent when we're in other cities.
Doesn't Nike make the Raptors, Lakers, Heat, Pistons, etc. jerseys? Unless the Rockets sign with Nike that design isn't going to happen. Also, weren't all teams going to Reebok uniforms soon? Just get rid of the goofy Rocket logo and the pinstripes and the uniforms are fine. I don't think the lettering on the uniforms should be changed.
