I don't know anyone who didn't love that helmet. I sure hope they kept it, or I'll be really disappointed.
Probably? More like definitely. The theme of the uniform is "HTown & Tough". My guess is that Cal played a lot of GTA San Andreas during the Carr years. And for the record, there's nothing wrong with pandering to community X or demographic Y. Everybody clutching their pearls needs to go change their Depends®, reapply some Preparation H®, crack open an ice cold Ensure® and chill the **** out.
Goodness gracious there’s no pleasing some of y’all. It’s a f***ing jersey dude. The gang leaders of MS13 aren’t gonna suddenly take over NRG because of an H on the Texans helmet. Give me a break.
Yeah Cal has leaned into this and it has worked to his favor so well. He comes off as extremely relatable and doesn't take himself too seriously. I think a better word is "edgy". Every era has its own outlaw/brutish/ne'er-do-well culture and they all have their own romanticized versions and following. This is no different imo.
As an aside, I think the Corpus Christi Hooks are one of the best branded pro sports teams anywhere. Such a great look and a clever name relevant to that city and area.
I'd bet 5 bucks some of the uniform haters also think we are under an "invasion" "The "H" is poisoning the blood of our fanbase"
People conflating not liking the H and it looking trashy with being worried about a small subset of people that don’t represent the majority is weird. It’s ok to not like a trashy looking logo and like the colors at the same time.
Talking to some friends from back in the day, they love it. They have Arian Foster going for 2,500 combined yards. I'm just having fun. I would have felt the same way if they used Comic Sans H on the helmet. Remember when Arian did an entire interview in his East L.A accent. That was cool
Getting to go to the uniform reveal downtown on Tuesday. Should be fun. Uniforms definitely leaking before that.
I think these unis are great… but you can fvck right off with that sausage fest taking place at our border. Imagine thinking that is ok.
