I know there is a continuing unemployment thread but even though today's number is still 7.6% the key is non farm payrolls. We have had 12 consecutive months of non farm payroll growth over 100K. The first time that has happened since 1999.
check how many have dropped out of the workforce -- it's a national disgrace Obama has tried to outsource fixing unemployment to the Fed. Lazy POS
The fact is we've had 7.5% unemployment or higher since December 2008, which is easily the longest stretch since the great depression. So excuse me if I don't get all giddy with optimism. The government has skewed the unemployment numbers tremendously by not including those who drop out of the work force and/or those that give up looking for employment. We're also going to see a huge increase in the number of part time workers as companies scale back for the burden that is Obamacare in 2014... not to mention that since the fed is tapering off their overzealous interest rates quite quickly, we are set to see a huge backlash in the next twelve months as fewer people buy homes due to increased interest rates. Obamacare in it's current form is going to crush this nation.
you thought that was a good report? IT confirmed Obamacare fears. Tons of part time workers far less full time workers.
Do you fear 326k full time jobs lost? All the gains came from involuntary part time jobs. This is not a good trend and is a result of Obamacare.
The trend of less full time jobs started before Obama because of healthcare costs and Obama care will help those who can't get insurance from employers
so you don't fear the loss of 326k full time jobs last month? Also you are simply wrong, there has been a massive surge in part-time jobs over full-time jobs recently. The number of people who are in part-time jobs and want full-time jobs went up .3% also the U6 went up .1%
lost within all this is that this is a libertarian's wet dream of a recovery---significant fall in government payrolls, significant rise in private payrolls, and a redistribution of wealth through the moneyed few who have much more significant skin in the bond and equity markets, and who are exiting and cashing out in droves. increase in part-time contract work can only give more power to employers and capital, who will remain to exploit. hooray freedom of capital! People will blame Obamacare for the weak recovery---the reality is that any slight on the job market caused by a policy that was a half-step towards true single-payer is minuscule compared to the whole-scale damage a libertarian attitude to the economy has done in causing the damage in the first place, and slowing the recovery after through its ruinous after-effects. this damage, by the way, is rooted in government's hands-off policy on healthcare---which was a large factor in the expansion of ruinous credit (fyi before Obamacare about 50% of personal bankruptcies were caused by medical expenses! That number may even be increasing, I'm not saying Obamacare will dent that significantly NOW, but it at least is a beginning to addressing a situation where medical bills are one of the largest causes of bankruptcy---even for those insured by the oh so benign private insurance firms!). http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15689369 it is emblematic of why libertarian attitudes to banking, the environment and etc. will fail. The saddest thing is that this approach will not only cause significant economic harm, but significant human harm as well---there have been studies that indicate that those with medical debt (obviously the most vulnerable to begin with) stop looking for medical treatment. A population of sickly individuals who die a lot in relation to other developed countries (i.e America) has resulted. The markets are not to be trusted. Any failure on the Obama Admin's part has come from their reluctance to address this societal ill in policy circles head-on. I don't blame them as much due to the irrational resistance that would pop up, but the simple truth is that public policy in America is broken---and a large reason why is because a host of Americans simply believe, for some baffling reason, that it is better to go without government than with---the most laughable expression of this being the preoccupation of most with Obamacare "slowing the recovery", a recovery that would not have had to happen without this baffling attitude towards the government in the first place.
Thank you mr president for stopping the flood of of outsourced jobs . full or part time we love made in the usa.
A grown man starting a fight with an innoncent kid and shooting him is despicable and cowardly and no law will justify that.
Can you guys post how much health care costs have gone up on a year by year basis starting in 2000 tia
