I got to thinking about great TV shows that never really come up in the discussions of great TV shows. I left out shows that hit "cult status" (Arrested Development, Firefly, etc). Futurama MadTV - Even though it peaked early, still consistently better than SNL, in my opinion. That 70's Show and my number one choice... The King Of Queens - I think it's a lot funnier than Everybody Loves Raymond, although it's in a similar mold (uptight wife, so the guy has to lie all the time and ends up getting busted at the end, crazy parents, etc). I think the characters play really well off each other and the writing is great - it seems natural and doesn't "try too hard." I never watched it when it aired but have really gotten into it lately. Kevin James is an underrated comedian. Maybe maybe no?
I would have to say SPIN CITY with MICHAEL J FOX was underrated. That show is hilarious. I think King of Queens is good but not underrated.
The King of Queens was solid but never outright hilarious. You just have an unhealthy Kevin James obsession.
Just Shoot Me! too. I don't. I just think the humor was rarely over-the-top, and when it was, it was usually Jerry Stiller's character and it was awesome. Arthur: Our first Christmas together was in the apartment with the leaky roof, we were poor, we had nothing, and we loved it! You know why! Carrie: Because you had each other... Arthur: Because we had vodka!! Now let's go inside and have some shots.
<-- Guilty. Chuck on NBC is a great show, it's on its pilot season, you can catch all the episodes on NBC.com ... I was very excited to know that it will come back for a 2nd season.
Winner. (I didn't mention the obvious because, well, a certain someone may start throwing DVDs at me yelling "I ****ING FINISHED SEASON 3 ALREADY")
The episode when they're all standing around talking about Bill's death kills me. I mean, if it really was only Bill, it wouldn't have been so bad. But you could see the real emotions from all the actors, they were talking about Phil Hartmon. Seriously. I haven't been able to watch the fifth season cause it makes me so sad. Awesome show though. Definitely.
maybe you know who sees similarities in Kevin James and what's their name in more ways then one...LOL "________ was solid but never outright hilarious." *Bows to your prophetic powers*
I will submit Dexter into the mix. It seems it didn't really catch on with most people until the middle of season 2. If you haven't watched, go get season 1.
The Critic. That is the only show that even rivals the original Family Guy episode and was hands down better than the Simpsons imo. Too bad they didn't make too many episodes.
