Willis has played 20 seasons with seven teams, most recently Atlanta for 29 games in 2004-05. He didn't play last season. He first joined the Hawks in 1984 and spent more than 10 seasons with the team. Willis, born Sept. 6, 1962, is the oldest player in team history and the second-oldest in league history. He has career averages of 12.2 points and 8.4 rebounds and is the active leader in games played at 1,419. Willis practiced with the Mavericks on Monday in Phoenix and will make the trip to Sacramento for Tuesday's game. Starting center Erick Dampier missed Sunday's game against Phoenix after injuring his right shoulder while grabbing a rebound Friday against New York. He is listed as questionable against Sacramento. DeSagana Diop is the other center. Copyright 2007 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
I expect Kevin Willis to be in tip top shape- he was always ready to play. Dude is really strong - he could bench press over 350 lb. Good insurance move by the Mavericks-Kevin is so strong. He can bang inside and give hem 6 fouls. Tsakalidis is strong too!
Old T-Rex is back! If the Mavs win a championship this season, this would make it two rings for Willis post-40 years old. Incredible.
