I enjoyed the first game and have been kind of following news of the sequel. I just caught this article last night, which indicates Uncharted 2 will have co-op and multiplayer. I'm curious to see how Naughty Dog implements this. I'm picking up Infamous on release day, so I'll have to see if I can score me a beta ticket for Uncharted 2 multi-player.
I saw the news about co-op/multiplayer yesterday, too. Not sure how much I care about multiplayer... it doesn't strike me as that kind of game. However, I will say that I'm way jazzed about the co-op thing. That could fantastic.
I don't particularly care for either feature, although it is something nice to have for those that a want a little more replayability in a game like this (hopefully this means more people check out this game, compared to the original). I'm sure Naughty Dog will do a great job with these features, or else they wouldn't bother implementing them. If possible, it would be nice IMO if there was a separate co-op mode (ala R2). I don't really know how they could do it right in the SP, given the focus on platforming, puzzle solving, the story, etc.
I was curious what the two of you thought, since you seem to be the 2 biggest Naughty Dog fans on the board. I'm kind of meh about the extra features, but it is intriguing. I wasn't really looking for co-op in R2, but that was definitely the best part of the game. With their track record, Naughty Dog should put something fun together. Although I'm with you RC, I'm not really sure how they would implement these features and retain the overall Uncharted feel. I will buy this game for the single player campaign, but the other aspects are at worth keeping an eye on.
That's exactly what it's going to be. The Gamespot report I read said that the co-op play would be an entirely separate endeavor, NOT the single-player game with an extra person. As RC said, more than anything, perhaps it's a way to get more people to check it out. The single-player campaign will always be the meat of Uncharted, though. And that's fine, because there are very, very few single-player experiences that match it.
I think that is based on the ScrewAttack leak...which is probably true, but I'd prefer to hear final details on Monday. I'm assuming they'll cover co-op details in the announcement anyway. Of course, I don't really have any real reason to doubt it. The gameplay they showed back at GDC does imply this, and it makes the most sense.

Maybe posted too soon. Now there is a trailer and some interviews. Thats pretty interesting about the multi-player. That won't be why I get it, but I will give it a shot.
I have just entered Shambala, and must be close to finishing it.....and yeah, I am going to get the first one as well. It is like Indiana Jones only you are Harrison Ford. DD
Finished both games recently, gotta say, if you thought the 2nd was good, YOU HAVE TO GET THE FIRST, cuz imo it was better, not taking anything away from 2 tho, it was still a really great game, and playing co-op with friends is fun (seems a lot harder than SP for us, we keep failing lol). But the MP is pretty fun too, pretty much a carbon copy of the COD online mode, mmm once again, cannot stress how imperative it is that you all enjoy the wonder and excitement that is Unchartered 1, good story lined backed with fun game play.

Amazingly short is more like it. Any game you can rent and finish in 3 days needs to be longer. Fun gaming experience that just wasn't long enough.
Think about that for a minute, how much time did you spend playing it? And compare that to going to a movie. You get 2 hours of entertainment for $10.....in a game, you get like 40 hours of entertainment for $60..... In a game like this, there is no way to give that much more, you have to draw the line somewhere. Multiplayer etc is where games give you even more bang for your buck.... So, if it took you 3 days, that is some amazing value, IMO. DD
I disagree so much with your opinion about the first game, but you're definitely entitled to it. To be honest, I love the story and dialogue in the series, but I'm not a fan of the series' combat. Love the locations, etc. Multiplayer is fun, though. Love the horde-type mode especially.
