I might as well post this...I am super bored today. Plus I need some help. For over a year I have been negotiating with an ice cream franchise. My group is planning on buying the Master Rights for this franchise for the UAE, Oman and Yemen. Looks like our deal is almost close to being done (fingers-crossed). Well if this does happen then I will have to relocate to Dubai for 2-3 years. Now I have been hoping for this for a while, but now that it is close to being done I am kinda worried. There is plenty to do in Dubai. But what about the two things I love the most? Rockets and Xbox live? Anyone know if I will access to these two things over there?
Xbox Live, I'm pretty sure you can. I've played and heard guys that I'm sure pretty sure were playing in Britain - they were definitely British. They have European and Japanese servers, you'd be able to get on one of them or maybe even the North American server. One of the points of Xbox Live is being able to play anywhere in the world, so I think your chances aren't that bad. I'm not familiar with league pass or stuff like that, but I would think you could get Rockets games there. Hell, China gets all the Rockets games (but that's a little different, ha). I can tell your definitely dedicated to both things if it's holding you back from a decision like that and that's great. I'd wanna see the Rockets wherever I went.
man it seems like you would surely be able to get some sort of satellite hookup over there to at least get SOME of the Rockets games. If you have the money to start a bunch of ice cream shops and pay the franchise fees, I'm sure you could afford a satellite.
Dang, no Xbox Live or the Rockets. I called up XBox and they said that it is not offered in Dubai. And only a few basketball games are on TV every week. So I might get to watch like 5-10 games if I am lucky.
While you are selling ice cream, you should also sell the glove that prevents ice cream from dripping on your hands when it starts melting. Big time money maker there.
Boy, I thought JVG got fired when I saw the thread title and the thread starter. Anyways, good luck with your business, and ya, fire Van Gundy
Will you have internet access? If so, R2K usually posts a .torrent of the Rockets games for people in exactly your situation.
I should have internet access. But for those of us (by that I mean me of course) who are not very internet savvy, what exactly is a "torrent"?
