Janet Jackson's other boob. It's pretty crazy. They moved the schools that were in district 15 to 14. Those schools were the Klein Schools, and the Conroe, Woodlands schools. They are now the only district from the greater Houston area that is not in region 3. District 16 moved over to District 17. District 16 was the Cy-Fair Schools. Now they play in Region 3 in district 17. If I recall correctly, District 17 was the Katy schools, and now those group of schools is in District 19. And now some schools moved from 5A to 4A. Klein Oak went to 4A. Houston Sterling Houston Waltrip Houston Washington Houston Westbury Houston Wheatley Houston Worthing Houston Yates also went to 4A. Actually, I think some of those schools were 4A. I remember Yates being in 5A last school year.
Yeah, I remember at Cy-Fair for Volleyball/ Football, we would always have to play Austin Westlake for bi-district champs, which was 15 and 16, IIRC... but now they're 16 and we're 17.... Rat Bastards! hehe.
My old high school, Huntsville, barely ranks as a 5A school (by 25 students), so we were bumped up from 4A. We are now in a district with The Woodlands and Lufkin. Jeesh...we were getting our asses kicked in 4A as one of the larger 4A schools...I'm just going to close my eyes for the next two years while we become the doormat of the north Houston district.
Here's the new District 14 in Region 2.... Conroe Conroe Oak Ridge Conroe The Woodlands Huntsville Klein Klein Collins Klein Forest Lufkin Thanks UIL!
Well, the 23-5A seems to look the same.... Deer Park Galena Park North Shore La Porte Pasadena Pasadena Dobie Pasadena Memorial Pasadena Rayburn Pasadena South Houston
Oak Ridge moves up starting next fall...here's the other movers... 4A to 5A Austin Anderson, Bastrop, Brownsville Porter, Conroe Oak Ridge, Denton Ryan, Edinburg, Granbury, Harlingen South, Huntsville, Killeen Harker Heights, Killeen Shoemaker, Los Fresnos, Mesquite Horn, Mission Sharyland, North Crowley, North Richland Hills Richland, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo, Richardson, Richardson Pearce, San Antonio Jefferson 5A to 4A Arlington Seguin, El Paso Andress, Houston Washington, Houston Westbury, Houston Worthing, Houston Yates, Klein Oak, McKinney, San Antonio Brackenridge, San Antonio Harlandale 3A to 4A Burnet, Elgin, Everman, Forney, Fort Worth Carter-Riverside, Fort Worth Diamond Hill-Jarvis, Lake Dallas, Paris North Lamar
I cant believe they put Lufkin in the same district as the Klein schools. Football in that district is gonna be ridiculous. Huntsville is back in the district again. We (Klein Forest) gave it to them last time they were in 5A. Sorry boomboom. I thought we had some long road trips when I was there, its gonna be even longer. Nothing beat getting out of school early to go get ready for football. I miss those days.
Correct me if I'm wrong (it happens often) but I always thought the 5A, 4A, etc. rankings were based on the number of students enrolled at the school. Am I correct, or am I full of sh*t as usual???
19-5A has been Katy schools for a long time; atleast as long as I have been in highschool. The only new addition is Strake Jesuit (who have been getting raped in pretty much every sport but lacrosse which isnt even UIL)
Disapointed to see Klein Oak regulated to 4A but from what I've read, we should be back up to 5A in 2 years. Region 3, District 18 Brenham Conroe Caney Creek Klein Oak Livingston Montgomery New Caney Waller Willis
The Houston area (Region III) has 8 districts. There are several goals that seem to be in play: 1) Group schools from the same school district together. Cy Fair schools make up most of District 17 with the outlying Magnolia and Tomball thrown in to round out the district. The Fort Bend schools make up District 20. HISD schools are District 21 2) Geographic sense District 22 is East and North East of Houston. Yes, Spring and Spring Westfield seem to be orphans thrown into that mix. District 23 has the Pasadena schools and the schools near Southeast Houston of: North Shore, Galena Park and Deer Park. District 24 has the more distant schools that are South & Southeast of Houston such as: Pearland, Clear Lake, Clear Creek, Galveston Ball etc Now we are left with the Alief District, Katy District, Aldine District, Spring Branch District and Strake Jesuit. If the UIL goes for a North - South combination of: Alief District + Spring Branch District + Strake Jesuit, then the Katy schools will be paired with the Aldine District and that is a longer drive than the current combination of Aldine District + Spring Branch District. If the UIL goes for a East - West combination of: Katy District + Spring Branch, then the Alief schools and Strake Jesuit will be paired with the Aldine District and that is a longer drive than the current combination of Aldine District + Spring Branch District. The things that limit UIL choices on the situation are: 1) The Katy, Spring Branch, Aldine and Alief School Districts don't have enough schools on their own to control a situation like the Fort Bend, Cy Fair and HISD schools. 2) The Lamar Consolidated (Rosenberg - Richmond area) schools of Lamar, Terry and Foster all seem to be 4A and that prevents pairing them with the Alief and Strake group. 3) The Fort Bend schools make up their own district and that prevents pairing them up with the Alief + Strake combination. 4) The Cy Fair schools making up most of another district and they don't have enough room to pick up the four Spring Branch (Memorial, Stratford, Spring Woods and North Brook) schools, but are able to work in Magnolia and Tomball. 5) The lack of 5A schools west of Katy. (until you approach Metro San Antonio). For the UIL alignment situation of the Spring Branch schools to change significantly, something(s) like the following need to happen: 1) Lamar Consolidated schools jump to 5A . 2) Fort Bend district to have too many schools for one UIL district,. 3) Katy District has enough growth that prevents pairing it with the Alief District. With the Spring Branch District having four schools and the Aldine District having four schools, it is logical to group them together to form a UIL district.
