Hmm went to his myspace music page. He last logged in sometime today Tuesday. If it wasn't him personally it must have been somebody close to him like a publicist or manager whatever. I found this posted on his website Saturday, January 24, 2009 ****** OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE **** This is DJ Khaled and due to recent press and news reports I feel compelled to release a statement. Just to be clear I am in Miami, FL working on Rick Ross' album, Deeper Than Rap. I am not in LA where there are reports that I have been in a police chase. These reports are completely false and unfounded. DJ Khaled We The Best Music The date which the above statement was written is January 24. The date is way off. Hmm very interesting.
Apparently not a celebrity. http://www.ktla.com/landing_topstor...f-After-SoCal-Pu=1&blockID=209148&feedID=1198 Bentley Driver Kills Self After SoCal Pursuit, Standoff LOS ANGELES -- Authorities say an armed assault suspect who sparked a standoff after leading police on a three hour low-speed chase in a Bentley Continental has died after shooting himself in the head. The pursuit began around 8 p.m. Monday in the North Hollywood area about four and a half hours after the man's girlfriend told police he had threatened her with a gun and was thought to be suicidal, said Lt. Greg Doyle of the Los Angeles Police Department's North Hollywood Station. When officers spotted the Bentley driver, he led police onto the Hollywood (101) Freeway and continued to the Santa Ana (5) Freeway through downtown Los Angeles to Manhattan Beach and then made his way back to the Valley. He seldom traveled at speeds over 40 mph. The driver finally stopped on Lankershim Boulevard in Universal City some three hours later, where a standoff began. At one point, a woman could be seen walking up to the car, speaking to the driver and walking away. It was not immediately known if the woman was the man's girlfriend. The car's trunk then popped open, making it difficult for officers behind the vehicle to have a clear view of the driver. Officers drew their weapons as the suspect sat in the luxury vehicle for about an hour and a half. At that time, shortly before 1 a.m., three armored vehicles rolled up to the Bentley, which was stopped in the middle of the street, according to an officer at the Los Angeles Police Department's North Hollywood Station. As the second SWAT vehicle was driving up, a single gunshot was heard from inside the Bentley, according to witnesses at the scene. SWAT officers then approached the vehicle with weapons drawn, broke the passenger window with a crowbar and pried open the doors. The man was taken away on a gurney and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital, Doyle said. The man's identity has not yet been released. Police say he was not a celebrity. "He's not a celebrity, just somebody who happened to have a $100,000 Bentley," Doyle said. The vehicle was registered in Illinois. Preliminary reports show that the man was distraught over financial matters, possibly from losing a business, Doyle said.
L.A. news stations dedicated their entire 30 minute coverage to this last night... they were going back and forth over the identity of the driver, whether he was a high profile celebrity, like it matters the way you handle a car chase whether they are famous or not... either way he had 4 news helicopters and a police helicopter, along with sheriffs, Highway Patrol and LAPD on his tail going 30 miles an hour all over town. they passed right by the freeway that goes near my home...
