Is that UTEP for running back still there? Wouldn't mind watching that guy get like 250 yards again. Cougs will win though
Fair enough. For the record, these are the home game records: In the pre-Astrodome years and sometimes after for big games with bigger demand, they played in Rice stadium. The record there... 1977 - vs. then #1 Texas - 72,124 At the Astrodome, the record was... 1979 - vs. then #8 Texas - 55,155
*sigh* Wish UH football could be relevant like that again. I *really* miss the SWC. The Coogs could never play at Reliant, could they?
They have, but those days are over. The only way they'll play in Reliant again is if 1) they get invited to the Texas Bowl or 2) UT, LSU, A&M, or Notre Dame agree to play them there. Those are the only 4 teams that would draw enough people to actually pull a profit while playing at Reliant. Once the new stadium gets built, the Reliant door will be officially shut, and not a moment too soon. On campus stadium is the answer, not a lease at the Astrodome 2.0
Is a new stadium a reality in the intermediate future? That would rock... unless it only seats 35000.
Was on campus an hour ago and saw a few cheerleaders. I like cheerleaders n stuff. On the game I think attendance will be down because of HS football.
I figure some day they might. Hell, SFA vs Sam Houston is at Reliant. Unless you were referring to them playing every single game at Reliant. No chance for that imo.
The Bayou Bucket and a couple other games were played in Reliant around 2004 and 2005 I think. It was a horrible atmosphere in my opinion. Maybe it'd be better now, this was back when only a few thousand people were showing up to Robertson.
Now we are going to find out what kind of defense UH has. If they have one (didn't last year) they are going undefeated. I don't think anybody can stop their offense.
I think UH will play at Reliant once the Rob gets razed. Anyone seen central floridas stadium? It seats 40,000 or something and it only cost 55 million. I'm sure UH can do something better than what ucf has.
