As well as the Rox are playing, a couple of down notes...Moochie's (non) defense, and what the $#&^#$ is Kenny smoking!?!? I have rarely seen a poorer individual performance, in terms of decision making, in a long time. He's not seeing the ball much, but with one or two exceptions, every touch he's had ( excluding when he's shot) he's either turned the ball over, or made another kind of poor play. One or two nice offensive moves, but a whole lot of bad passes...including a couple of notable times where he blatently ignored Ming down low, (once with a pf on him and only 2 feet from the cup) to try ill advised cross court passes to covered perim players that led to turnovers...Wasn't Kenny notable for freezing out Eddie last year? Is anyone else noticing this? I know he's been hurt, but it wasn't his brain, was it? P.S...He just did it again, but Francis saved his bacon...I'm serious, what's he on? He's normally a pretty heady player, but tonight he's being ridiculous...
Go sing to your grandmother....10 points if anyone aside from EC can tell me what I'm alluding to....
MacBeth has a point regarding the way K.T. ignored a wide open Yao -- and Yao was right in front of Thomas. I came out of my chair yelling at K.T.'s ill-advised cross court pass.
Wow that non-pass to Yao was HORRIBLE. Calvin was screamin to get it to Yao... what in the WORLD is Kenny thinking? I mean I know it's one play, but it boggles the mind how you don't pass it to Ming when he's literally 3 feet from the basket. IDIOTIC move by kenny.
Despite his mistakes, Kenny really made himself felt, tonight. His presence allowed the Rockets to do much better offensively in the second quarter.
Rudy called several ISO plays for him, he wasted 70% of them. He might hate Yao. If it wasn't YAO, he would have got his contract extension.
1) Unless he's rusty because he hit his head, I don't see the connection. Being rusty affects your legs, your timing, etc...NOT your decisions. 2) 174 wrongs don't make a right.
Kenny made me very upset tonght, especially that blantant disregard of Yao in the post But Im willing to give Kenny time before I blast him, I just hope he is out for the team this yr. Im also worried that he may not like Yao, that would be bad, simply because both of them are a big part of what Houston is trying to do.
Even with what I consider very generous scoring, Thomas had as many turnovers (5) as points tonight. And that doesn't account for the chucking a shot up from deep instead of passing to Ming...Considering he touched the ball maybe 12-13 times, 5 turnovers is incredible. 5 is a bad night for a starting pg, and they get 40-50 touches... I've got to be honest...when the "Kenny blatently looks off/ignores Griffin " posts were in circulation last year, I shrugged them off, cause I hadn't seen much ( I listen to most games, am not in tv range)...but tonight it was incredibly obvious with Ming, on more than one occassion...The kind of thing you'd even notice in a pick-up game, where a guy looks right at you, you're wide open under the hoop, and he throws it away trying to get the ball across the court...I have a serious question: Are all of Kenny's friends on the team guards? Is he that territorial?
Kenny stunk it up tonight. Hope it's rust. I think he will prosper in the reserve role, when Taylor returns. Keep him away from Yao. Play Yao with Rice, Tmo, Hawk, Nachbar, but no K "black hole " T, no way.
After his comments in the paper, where he whined to the media about not getting an extension and how he has no security, and now this...I am beginning to question his character. Anyway, we'll see how he goes...if this continues, he's only hurting himself...and if he plays well but is a disruptive force, well he can go the way of vernon maxwell.
IF kenny continue to continue to play like this, I would not mind trading him on or before trading deadline. He may be thinking of his contract.I would package him with Moochie and Collier.I think we could get much more decent players than him.Anyway, Morris will be there to take up his place. As for moochie, he's really an ass hole...I wonder why rudy keep on using him with cat and steve rather than giving much more playing time to Boki.
Tonite, Kenny showed both the good and bad. Some offensive moves were good. Turnovers (at least couple of them were baaaaad). But not passing to yao was inexcusable (unless he hates Yao. I suspect if all PFs show up - MoT and Eddie- regularly, Kenny might be the man traded by mid-season.
Macbeth: "1) Unless he's rusty because he hit his head, I don't see the connection. Being rusty affects your legs, your timing, etc...NOT your decisions. 2) 174 wrongs don't make a right." Macbeth is right, 174 wrongs do not make a right and thank you for my biggest laugh tonight.
Its Kenny's first game back. He will get back into the flow of things. But, man, that was a bad game.
