Just saw a Pontiac Aztek as I was driving to the grocery store and my first thought was: What the hell were they thinking? Now, I'm NOT a "car snob" by any means(I still have my 1989 Isuzu pick-up)and I realize that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" yada, yada. But holy cow! People paid good $$$ for that?! I wonder how much the designers at Pontiac were paid to come up with that vehicle? And what were the executives, who gave the project the green-light, thinking(it'd tap into the young, hip buyer market)? So what car/vehicle would rank up there(or down there) with the Aztek? BTW, this is just my opinion and I don't mean to offend anyone(especially any Aztek owners) but I just had to bring this up.....
how about the old dodge trucks. the ones from like 74 to 93 that never changed. The dodge engineers must have been doing **** all year and turning in the same plans every year. god they are ugly
I used to drive two of the ugliest cars ever made, a 72 AMC Gremlin..puke-green paint job...yeck!! and a 67 Dodge Dart..with a slightly darker shade of green.. Beat that!! oh btw...Them Aztecs are soooo ugly I can't believe that they are made by the same ppl that make them awesome Grand Prixs.
they remind me of that car that Homer made for his brother...forgot the name of it..but yeah..horrible
I hate the Focus...if I wanted to ride around in an egg, I would....uhh....go find a big duck, or something, and wait around for a while, I guess. I'll get back to you on that one, but the Focus does suck.
The Aztek does suck, but nothing looks more ridiculous to me than the PT Cruiser. God, what an ugly car.
I think the PT Cruiser isn't a bad looking car... just a disgrace to the hot rod its shape is supposed to reflect back on. All the power of a wind up toy. When I read the title of this thread, the first thing that came to mind was the Pontiac Aztek. That is one nasty lookin' vehicle... I think Pontiac designers were on drugs. Hell, I think people that buy the thing need to be checked out. What's weird is that its sister vehicle, the Buick Rendezvous, doesn't look all that bad.
Yeah! Why did they do that? I figured they'd come out with a supped-up version for the PT Cruiser but never did. The Prowler was also another car that was severely under-powered!
it has taken dodge a while to get out the new turbo PT Cruiser but it's comming the reason there aren't many many more of them is they were having problems putting the regular engine in it's bay, I imagine they had to do some re-enginering to fit in the turbo as for ugly cars I'll nominate the new VW beetle I applauded during a particular scene from Fight Club
That's what FIAT considers a van. Now, here comes the astonishing part : the car might already have been designed at a time when Chris Bangle*, an American was head of the FIAT design team. *Chris Bangle is now head designer at BMW. The first car which was developed under him was the new 7 series which has received, err, luke warm reception** as far as I can tell. **More on CB and fellow head designers' opinions can be read in this (german) article
