Yes, I have a techie question that I can't get a straight answer for on the web... Anyways, I purchased an external CenDyne (NEC) DVD+-RW last week. I was backing up my DVDs with the free media given to me with the purchase. After testing one of the backups over the weekend, I noticed lots of macroblocking/pixelation and major skipping and freezing, rendering the movies useless. At first, I thought the problem was bad media. However, a friend of mine (who posts here and also purchased the same DVD player) noted that we were plugging in a USB 2.0 device into USB 1.0 ports. Could this be a reason for bad burning of DVDs, rather than the media itself? I can't find a straight answer and I was hoping one of the more saavy (DoD?) could help me out. I feel so dirty and ashamed...
Hmm... Thanks. I know on the USB 1.0, it takes 80-85 minutes at 4x. I'm just hoping that the 50 free media I got with the burner (the main reason I bought it in the first place) aren't basically cheap coasters BEFORE having been burned erroneously.
NEVER! (though my boss is starting to force the issue, seeing as how I'm the only one in the office without one. But I have stood strong on this point and will threaten to quit before succumbing!)
