    Anybody getting it?

Any thoughts on the main event (Tito Ortiz v. Chuck Liddell)?

I say Tito as long as he gets it to the ground early.

Rest of the card looks kind of lackluster, IMO, needs some more big names.

This stuff is pretty big abroad. Just not in the US. Isn't is supposed to be pretty popular in Japan. That huge guy on K1 is like a god over there.

UFC is popular here, PRIDE is the one in Japan that is popular.

Bob "The Beast" Sapp is the guy you're talking about, and he is a superstar over there.

They must bring back Royce Gracie, the greatest in my mind. He had some most unforgettable and thrilling fights ever!!!!!!

I think Royce is unofficially retired, he hasn't fought in a few years.

He was fun to watch though. That war against Sakuraba in PRIDE was awesome.

EDIT my bad, he fought to a draw in a PRIDE match last december.

Hasn't Liddell lost his last few matches? I thought he's just about done.

In the Sakuraba fight, 2 great fighters going no-holds-barred for 1 and half hours and exhibited their greatness by not having 1 drop of blood spilled.

Unfortunately, Royce had his leg broken by repeated Muy-tais from Sakuraba. Otherwise, the fight could have on for hours more.

Sadly, after Royce, the fights became violent bloodbaths and I lost interest. Great fighters like Royce and Rickson should never, never, ever, never get punched in the face.

He beat some guy in the Pride GP last year but got whipped by Quinton Rampage Jackson the next round. I think he lost to Randy Couture too, but then again so did Tito.

He'll have a puncher's chance, at least, though he throws a lot of sloppy haymakers.

That Tito/Couture match was great. They had the 'old timer' tag stuck on Coture, but he's one tough SOB.

I don't know who watched this, but this was a kickass show.

The Genki Sudo match at the very end was awesome, as was the whole show.

Great fights tonight, lot of big shots landed.

so my friend had the old UFC seasons on DVD and I watched it for a while sometime back. You know, back in the day like at the beginning it was MUCH more entertaining. It was like wrestle to ground, elbow smash to head, elbow smash to head --> KO! Now it's all defensive and grappling and stuff... no fun!

Too many rules now and not enough action. The first maybe five were great but now it sucks.

Well, if you guys get a chance to catch the replay, tonights bouts were almost all KO's, with a few subs mixed in.

This was one of the best ones I've seen, very entertaining bouts, five KO's and 2 good submissions.

Worth a look on the replay or video/dvd. A lot of tough mofos out there tonight.

I just may watch it again....of course I've been drinking a bit...

I didn't see 2nite's but I think they went to more boxing style compassionate knockout, in the first ones knockouts were just that.

True, they got concerned about humanity/mercy and didn't want people getting killled in the ring so they got proactive about stopping them early. Not a bad tradeoff IMO!

I'm a big fan of UFC and the one last night was also one of the best I've seen. The fight between Lawler and Diaz was very fun to watch. Too bad for Tito though, he tried to prove he could stand up with Lidell and ended up getting pummeled.
