Just got this yesterday. Remember when music videos were cool? Man, there is some good stuff on this DVD. It even has director commenteries and some documenteries.
Yeah, well I don't know what to tell you. I love everything they have done. Of course, I am partial to Achtung Baby and everything after since I grew up in the 90's. Did anybody on this board catch the Zoo TV tour in 92? Damn, If only I was 2 years older back then, I could have gone. If you did go, what was it like to see it live, I'm just curious if you remember anything about the show that stands out.
I did. I was on the 25th row of the floor when they played the Summit (Compaq Center). It was a great show. They were my favorite band growing up. One of my friends always went to concerts with me. We always said "one day that'll be U2 up there." Well...in 1992, it happened. Fantastic show. They played to the crowd really well. I took a chartered bus from College Station to Houston to go to that show. Great memory.
Ref, we 100% agree on something Similar situation for me, caught them in the Erwin center and later at the Dome.
I caught them at the Rose Garden in Portland on the Elevation tour, and all I have to say is this: U2 is not a concert. It is an experience. They have somehow managed to take an ordinary concert and turn it into the kind of thing that you will never forget. I have the dvd too. Mostly collectors stuff, but still interesting.
I saw their Pop Tour several years ago in the Dome. My seats sucked but it was still a cool concert. That video board was amazing.
I saw them at Compaq during the Elevation Tour. I agree, it isn't a concert but an experience. I know they're working on another new album, I hope they tour again soon because I'd like to see them live again. I guess I got the DVD for the videos that you don't get to see on TV at all anymore. Songs like the fly, until the end of the world, even better than the real thing, numb, and lemon.
